Thinking of last season, just realised something.

When Alex was kidnapped in the episode with her name, Kara, and the DEO went all out non-stop working every second to find out where she was and get her back. They were rightly desperate about it. They initially did not know who had Alex either.

They know who has Jeremiah. They've known for a while. Maybe Kara isn't that close to her foster dad but Alex should be close to her real one. After he first got abducted, not much happened. After he got caught by Cadmus the second time, nothing happened.

*There was a death threat against Alex, but Kara and all were fully commited even before that was known

Two totally different situations Alex was kidnaped for ransom with a 36 hour timelimit. Cadmus has never contacted anyone with a direct threat to Jeremiah's life.

Let's talk about Jeremiah and Cadmus for a minute. Cadmus is very very good at staying under the radar, so good that the good guys have only managed to locate the organization once before Cadmus had packed up and moved. While I agree it would have been nice to have some scenes showing the search for Jeremiah I'm not sure where they would have had time to show them.

Let's start with the history. In S1E17 while wiping the evil army guys mind J'onn discovers Jeremiah didn't die on the mission where they met. He doesn't know for sure that Jeremiah is still alive and doesn't know where he is or that he's with Cadmus. In the same episode James tells Kara about Cadmus and that Clark doesn't know how to find them. I think it can be agreed that there was no way really start looking for Jeremiah in the remaining season one episodes.

Season two picks up right where season one ended, not even 24 hours has passed since Cat let Kara pick a job. Let's assume they have started looking into any DEO files that might help but they still have no idea where Jeremiah is and don't have much to go on. In S2E2 we find out that Jeremiah is alive and with Cadmus but only because Lillian tells Alex in hopes of recruiting her. Cadmus then lays low for the next two episodes. We could have had a scene where Alex asks Winn if anything has come up and he says no but that's kinda a waste of time. In S2E5 the DEO knows Cadmus is the one supplying the alien guns but never manages to find thier location. Cadmus lays low for episode six. Episode seven is all about Cadmus, it's where Kara finds out the head of Cadmus is Lillian Luthor and that Hank Henshaw is alive. Of course it's also when Jeremiah sets Kara and Mon-El free but Cadmus is gone when the DEO goes to rescue Jeremiah. Jeremiah told Kara he was ok and not to worry about him, we find out why later. Cadmus is responsible for the Medusa virus in episode eight and everyone is trying to find Cadmus and stop them. Since Jeremiah is with Cadmus they are looking for him too. Episode eight ends with Lillian being arrested. It would have been neat to see Maggie sneaking Alex or J'onn in to interrogate Lillian somewhere in episodes 9-11 but unfortunately there is only so much time per episode. Lillian of course escapes police custody in S2E12 and gets away when Lex's mountain vault explodes. I'll assume Cadmus is starting build the space ship and the DEO still can't find them until they show themselves in S2E14. S2E15 is the only time the good guys manage to find Cadmus' location. The last time we see Jeremiah is when he loses a fight with Cyborg Superman as the building is on fire from the bombs Alex set off. I'll concede it would have been nice to hear Jeremiah referenced in episodes 16-20 but I guess we have to assume the DEO is looking without success. In S2E21 Alex does ask Lillian where her father is and Lillian says she doesn't know. Lillian could have lied but I think it's highly possible that she told the truth. Jeremiah is probably on the run from both Cadmus and the DEO and his years with Cadmus have taught him how to hide. If I had to guess Jeremiah is going to walk up to the DEO at some point looking for help. He knows they don't trust him but they won't kill him either.

No, they were fully committed after the phone call from the guy from Alex's phone he says in that phone call that she has 36 hours to free the man from prison or your sister dies....so she knew from the second that they found out that Alex was missing that she was going to die.

That particular scene begins at 1:00 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2ZSMLbxCMA

As far as Cadmus goes....it was well known that they were undergound (Cadmus) and not easy to find, they got lucky, or as Mon-nel stated not so lucky. Now that they know that Jeremiah was actually working with Cadmus that kind of dampened their desire to find him.....this is explained better in Exodus why he was working with them....and yes I agree there should have been a more concerted effort to find him but they decided to go the Daxam route instead.

However, I don't think you can really compare Kara going after Alex with more urgency than she was going after Jeremiah....two very different scenarios. One she knew that her sister only had 36 hours to live, the other she knew that Jeremiah, yes still at Cadmus, but alive.

Huh, I didn't even think about that while watching that episode, that's so true though.

There really has never been much urgency regarding Jeremiah's whereabouts. They care for an episode or two, and then it's kind forgotten lol. I can't even really remember where that storyline left off.
