(Reading Eric's post on Sanver's timeline, I was shocked to see he was labelled horrible things he clearly isn't. That reminded me of a long list of similar stuff and it felt like the last straw)
Noticing a disturbing phenomenon and thought it's time to confront it. This being a progressive show with a mostly socially progressive fandom, many times during fandom conflicts people are hijacking causes and ideology as weapons.
If you don't like a character or dislike a ship, you might be labelled sexist or homophobic. Likewise, writers and actors could be called such for completely irrelevant comments, or plot choices.
Like with Jeremy Jordan at comic con, or people calling the show sexist and homophobic for not pairing up Kara with a female interest.
