Heck yes!!!! Melissa sings, "Moon River???" SUCH a classic and perfect for her!!!

Hoping she and Grant sing maybe "Good Morning" from Singing In The Rain.

I think when we heard musical episode, we all thought more current or radio ready music. Sounds like they are actually going classic musicals.

No wonder in those preview pics she is wearing a black dress. It was like what Audrey Hepburn wore in the 1961 film classic Breakfast at Tiffany's. The song was done by two greats in popular music; composer Henry Mancini and lyricist Johnny Mercer. It received an Academy Award for Best Original Song for its performance by Hepburn in the film. It also won Mancini the 1962 Grammy Award for Record of the Year and won Mancini and Mercer the Grammy Award for Song of the Year.

In 2004, Hepburn's version finished at #4 on the American Film Institute's 100 Years...100 Songs survey of top songs in American cinema.

Moon River also served as the theme song for singer Andy Williams' TV variety show, and when he opened a theater in Branson, MO, it was named after the song.

Maybe not musicals, but songs. In the aritcle Jackie DeShannon's 1969 top 5 hit Put a Little Love in Your Heart is going to be featured as well. DeShannon is still alive and kicking at 76

Somehow it's the showrunners way of telling so called classic hits radio stations like New York's WCBS-FM 101.1 which concentrates on 70's, 80's and even now the 90's(!!!!!) "You won't play these songs. so we will!" Can't say i blame the showrunners. Although both songs could be heard on stations like Long Island's WHLI 1100 or even a local station here in SW CT 1400 WSTC.

I also read in the article that Kara's favorite film is The Wizard of Oz. Well if this crossover works, and they decide to do another, make it for 2019, the flm's 80th anniversary so that Melissa can sing "Over The Rainbow."

Wouldn't that be a TREAT!!? Would fit her voice perfectly. One of my favorite versions was Katherine McPhee on American Idol.
