Melissa Benoist on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight

Just watched her appearance.I know brunette is her natural hair color,but I'm so used to seeing her blonde that it was jarring seeing the dark and shorter hair.She looked great though although it does add to the mouring process for me that it's really over and makes me sad if we never see her as Supergirl again in a guest appearance down the line.It was a very cute interview and the Jimmy Kimmel costume for her son made me smirk.

Yeah...the new hair does seem to imply that she's DONE done with the role. Squashed any hopes for a Superman & Lois guest spot, down the line.

Based on what she says I also don't think she wants to keep playing the character and be another "Diggle".

But if she wanted to do it we know they can always do wigs. They have done that for various Flashbacks after all.

I'd tend to agree. She's done her bit for the franchise and has started a new chapter in her life. If she wishes to make guest appearances, it's her choice.

I have a feeling that a huge weight of responsibility (i.e. Supergirl) has been lifted from her shoulders. This is good for her. I wish her and the family, former cast members and assorted crews well. They did exactly what was asked of them and that's all we, as fans and critics, can hope for.

When asked if they were still filming Supergirl Melissa said that, no we are all done and her expression indicated Thank God we are done. She also hinted that she stole her Supergirl custume.

Melissa is always a great interview because she is so natural and unaffected. She does look great; it seems she is really enjoying her life as a mother and post-Supergirl. I am looking forward to whatever projects are in her future.

The new hair looks good on her. She mentioned that doing the flying scenes are painful for her. Reminded me of the conversations we had here that the number of horizontal flying scenes has gone down.

Thanks for the heads up. I love the red dress that she had on and of course her lovely smile. She said that she took many of the dinosaur nik naks from the set of Catco as mementos.

Yeah, Mel's now moving up, up and away from SG, and not looking back. This week's Kimmel appearance is essentially the kickoff to her book tour. Thursday, she does the virtual NYCC at 10 AM EST with Thomas Lennon, who ALSO has a new book to promote.
