Melissa is Spoilertv.com performer of the month for November. The actresses of Supergirl were well represented in the November nominations Chyler, Katie, and Odette were all nominees. Past performer of the month winners from the show include:

Melissa Benoist: December 2016

Chyler Leigh: October 2016, November 2016, and 2016 performer of the year. Performer of the year has only one winner meaning actresses and actors compete against each other. I’m going to include the link the article on this one because it has a special message from Chyler.

Floriana Lima: January 2017, May 2017

Katie McGrath: February 2017

Only actors and actresses who win performer of the month in a given year are eligible to be performer of the year so Melissa, Katie, and Floriana will all be nominees for 2017.

Apperently Caity Lotz's "How's your butt..." line was an ad lib that Melissa and Chyler just went with. Melissa had to hold it together and not bust out laughing until Caity walked off and Chyler couldn't laugh at all. Kudos to the director for keeping the camera rolling on that one.

I think what makes Melissa so good that even when given material that is crappy she does an amazing job making it much better than it was on the page.
True, but sometimes even she is unable to elevate it to anything beyond cringe-worthy.

There is just a noticeable difference in the quality of the scene when she is given material that challenges her to stretch her abilities for a positive reason than when she is trying to make a scene acceptable. While I take Melissa in either situation, I prefer seeing the impact from the former rather than the latter.

I agree that Melissa is very good and can elevate even the most banal of material.

But, I also agree that the voting is skewed and that there weren't as many opportunities in season 2 as in season one.

In fact, I think she would have gotten a win before this, post at east the second episode. Only reasonable explanation is that voting is skewed. Or, there are many others shows that are way better; which is possible I guess. I don't follow many.

The poll is just a fun poll, nothing scientific to it. They have however worked on the voting and from what I'm hearing it will be much more fair in the new year. They will be explaining the new system pretty soon I'm sure. You have block voting for sure, as in "voting with an agenda" on pretty much any popularity poll. You will have groups get together and they will vote up those that are up against someone they don't like even though they've never watched a show simply because they don't like the actor, actress, etc. I am doubtful that Chris will ever win one of these, unless the new voting system can work out those things.

You have groups that believe that if they vote their favorite character/actor up in as many polls as they can, that somehow that is going to change the minds of the executives at CW, or whatever studio they are targeting. Which doesn't work...."The 100" is a pretty good example of that.

I agree SSAV. Melissa definitely deserves it. When given material that she can do something with, she blasts it out of the park every time. I love Chyler, too and she also deserves the recognition for her work. But, the fact that Chyler won it so many times last season and for the overall year performer while Melissa didn't really shows that the writing emphasis was not on Supergirl/Kara. That, along with the fact that the voting demographics of that website are oftentimes very skewed.

Oh! I am glad. I have been waiting for Melissa to get that for some time now... and I thought Season 3 gave her ample material for it. In fact, from the way season is going, I think she will get more of them.

Thanks for the info Brierrose.
