NBC reports that Jon Cryer, AKA Lex Luthor from Supergirl, will star in a new comedy series whose pilot will drop on 12/23/23.

It's called Extended Family. Note the emphasis on the "ex."

The plot of the show, according to NBC's website.

After an amicable divorce, Jim and Julia decide to continue to raise their kids at the family home while taking turns on who gets to stay with them. Navigating the waters of divorce and child-sharing gets more complicated for Jim when Trey, the owner of his favorite sports team, enters the picture and wins Julia’s heart."


Co-starring with Cryer are Donald Faison, Abigail Spencer, Sofia Capanna, and Finn Sweeney.

Mike O’Malley, who was a part of the Glee cast, as well as host of the Nick game shows GUTS and Get the Picture, is the writer and executive producer of the new show.

Starting 1/2/24, and every Tuesday thereafter, Extended Family airs at 8:30/7:30c on NBC and streams next day on NBC's streaming service, Peacock.

And to promote his upcoming effort, like any celebrity, Jon Cryer will be a celebrity partner on a holiday/Christmas edition of one of the greatest game shows of all time...Password.

Password is a simple game of word communication where two teams of two players (celeb and civilian) try to make each other say the secret password. But you must give it using a one-word clue.

An example of this is shown here as Jon plays with a contestant named Bernadette, who played one of Password's sequels, Super Password in the 1980's where each Password was one of five clues to a puzzle. And Bernadette's celeb partner back then...none other than BETTY WHITE! She was of course the wife of the man who first hosted Password, and later Password Plus where the puzzle extra first began, Allen Ludden.

Jon's opponent...Tonight Show host and semi-regular on this version of Password, Jimmy Fallon.
