I think Chyler Leigh did one of these. Well, our Winn stars in a newly released Christmas film called "Holly and Ivy."

But it can only be seen on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, a sort of second channel to Hallmark Channel which has been the Christmas movie authority for years. My mom LOVES them.

The story...

When Melody’s neighbor, Nina, learns that her illness has returned, Melody promises to keep Nina’s kids, Holly & Ivy, together. To adopt the children, she must renovate her new fixer-upper, which she does with the help of contractor, Adam (played by Jeremy Jordan).

I think you can guess what happens to Nina :( :( :(

Some info on Jeremy.

Caught the tail end of it...and there is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in the film...my mom is crazy about these dogs, especially the Blenheim variety. Search for them on Duck Duck Go.

CONFESSION: I like them too, along with Golden Retrievers, Huskies, mutts, Collies and yes cats.

This makes me wonder...will Melissa do one of these films?

Chyler did in fact do a Christmas themed Hallmark TV movie called Window Wonderland in 2013. Katie did on too called A Prince for Christmas in 2011, I remember catching it a few years ago but missed the beginning and it wasn’t playing again.

A lot of good actors do Hallmark TV movies, they’re fun and you know exactly what to expect. They probably don’t take a lot of time to film and that’s a plus. Not heavy or Emmy material but certainly respectable pay the bills work. I could see Melissa doing one maybe have her character be a singer to take advantage of her vocal talent. Heck why not have Chris as the costar, double the paycheck and the producers wouldn’t have to worry about chemistry. I do think Melissa will want to to Broadway again she seemed like she really enjoyed it and her debut was a smashing success.

I wouldn't rule out Melissa doing one of these, for the right project. (Zach Levi did one a few years ago that I thought was pretty inventive and well done.) I had the impression she wants theater work, and that would make for a nice "pay the bills" kind of job on the side.

It's fun to speculate on what's next for Melissa after Supergirl. Chewing gum for the brain if you will. I would advise against doing a Hallmark Christmas or any of their shows. Melissa is a top notch actress, singer and dancer and should aim higher then Hallmark productions. I feel that after the final season of Supergirl the EP's will be banging her door down with offers.

A Princess for Christmas is streaming in the US on Netflix (paid subscription) and Tubi (free with ads). The Supergirl Radio podcast recently did an episode about the movie.
