Supergirl is briefly discussed here by JK and MB. I try not to post content about Melissa that have not much to do with the show, but luckily this does.

As I watched Melissa on Kimmel Monday night I was reminded of a comment Chyler made once, that Melissa is the most genuine person she's ever met. Many, if not most, celebrities who appear on these programs always seem to be in what you might call their "performing mode." (That's just an opinion, not a criticism.) Melissa is different; she seems to have an internal switch which shuts off her performing mode, so what you get in these interviews is just Melissa. It reveals who she really is, and is one of her most endearing qualities, IMO.

I think she has become more confident in being herself over the years. Being sure of herself looks good on her. :)

I am glad he did ask her about Supergirl even if the promotion was actually for Waco.

And.. I agree that Melissa is a very fine and admirable lady in her own right. :)

I'd like to see, should a 4th season come up, a little more Melissa in Supergirl...a fun, energetic young lady who can still have all the powers and still be an ass kicker. But in these interviews Melissa has said she is a bit of a klutz. In that Kimmel talk she said she even worked at Disneyland (something that until then we did not know and interesting given Kimmel is on ABC, which is owned by Disney) and her take on Send in the Clowns...LOL!

If a 4th season comes, I think it should be done a little more like The Flash current season. A little more humor, comic fun, etc.

Yeah because being wrongly accused, thrown in jail and put on trial are all such fun things to do.....:D :p that screams FUN.....

Ha! I agree with you Kelly. I think folks do Melissa an injustice in imagining her to be just this innocent, fun and energetic lady; emphasis on "just". At least, I assume that is what you meant by this comment.

She has worked hard, has strong opinions and stances, and has had her own struggles that (from what I have gleaned from interviews and talks that other people share). And through it all, she has also managed to be kind to everyone around her. And she seems to love her work and appreciate talent and work in others as well. And given her role choices, she also seems to have a maturity to her, which is admirable.

However, expecting her to be Kara seems a bit unfair; and I wonder how much the unwarranted hatred towards Melissa has been because people expect her to be Kara--a girl Next door Kara--who she is not.

I mean, I love Kara, but I have a respect for Melissa that has nothing to do with Kara.

In any case, I don't think even Kara is like the Kara that some people have in mind. Considering what she has gone through, her anger is justified; as is her confidence and leadership.

But.. I agree that it'd be nice to have some fun in Season 4.

Wonder if any of it made sense to any of you.

I wasn't able to watch this so, thank you for sharing. Her laugh is just so infectious. I found myself smiling and laughing with her the whole time.

Totally agree!
In other words, more like Sterling Gates' "Adventures of Supergirl" comics series was...

No actually my comment had nothing to do with Melissa, the person.....but more people wanting this season or next season to move towards Supergirl following this season of The Flash in that The Flash is more fun, comic relief, that kind of thing....and I just pointed out what was going on on The Flash at the moment.

As far as haters of Melissa? I don't think it has anything to do with that, it is more....at least from the stand point of Glee, it was fans of Lea Michelle that were just horrible on tumblr and Twitter it was crazy. And with Supergirl, it has been fans that wanted their "fanon" as "canon".....and then you had the MTV thing, where (EVERYONE LAUGHED) but Melissa and Jeremy got the brunt of the retaliation, and since that happened we really have seen the hate for her personally go up....NOT DRASTICALLY, she is still definitely one of the more popular actors on TV, but the retaliation against the MTV interview still is ongoing and so they take any and every chance they can get to slam her ....Jeremy has been pretty much "no where to be found" on social media since that happened so it has died down for him, but anytime Melissa puts out a tweet or Instagram message you still see a few of those haters come in and throw the hypocrite card...pretty ridiculous, but it is what it is.
