Hey, everybody!

I know this risks becoming a thread of conjecture, debate, and fanfic. But I was genuinely curious.

How would you guys end the show? In particular, if we got a season 7 (so we didn't have to deal with all the pandemic stuff), how would you wrap it? What milestones would your season 7 have?

If I had my choice, we would get a season 7, with reduced COVID restrictions, crossovers, once again.

This would require a level of cooperation not seen throughout the Arrowverse shows, but I would have Superman & Lois and Supergirl, while running their own separate arcs, gradually spend the season hinting and slowly building towards Brainiac. There would be a Spring, end of season crossover, instead of Fall. The season would wrap with an arc where Brainiac invades, an we get a proper Superman & Lois/Supergirl crossover where the cousins face Brainiac, together. You could even make it a larger Arrowverse crossover, if you want, as long as Superman and Supergirl remain at the center of the story.

This would also prove to be a fantastic final season for Brainy, too, as that would be a very personal battle for him.

Some people hate Brainiac being the "go to" combo story for Superman and Supergirl stories. But honestly, it just fits. Supergirl has hinted at Brainy's evil relative for years. Narratively, it makes more sense than trying to use a villain we haven't at least hinted at, over the years (though Rogol Zaar could be a fun story for them both...but that would open up an entirely new can of worms).

What do you think, guys? Do you wanna share how you would end it? Do you have suggestions for my proposed story?

Honestly, I'm just trying spark some fun conversation until the show returns in August.

I don't know how I would wrap up season 6 but I do know how the final scene should play out. I would have Melissa sing her swan song. And the song I would pick would be "Blowin In The Wind" by Bob Dylan.

I've talked about this before here. I'd like to show to end much the way "NYPD Blue" did. As I recall, the last episode of NYPD Blue was set on a Friday afternoon. By this time, Dennis Franz's main character, "Sipowicz", had become the captain of the police precinct. The story line for the final episode was fairly routine. But as I remember it, during the show, all of the regular cast members came by Sipowicz's office, leaving with a "See you on Monday!' , before walking off. In the final scene, everyone else has already gone, and it's probably 5:30 PM or so. Sipowicz gets up from his chair, pulls his trademarked old, worn overcoat off the rack, and puts it on. He turns off the lights as he walks out of his office. And then he proceeds to turn off the lights in the entire room before walking out the door. Then we see him walk down the darkened hall toward the elevator. And we're left with the feeling that life will go on in that Manhattan police precinct, but we just won't be there to see it anymore.

Of course, a TV police procedural is a very different genre than a superhero show. But I'd like to see something along the same lines - and be left with the same sort of feeling regarding Kara and her Superfriends and CatCo..

The last panel of the recent 6-page Supergirl comic that Sterling Gates and Sarah Leuver did also has some very appropriate ideas for the last episode, too, in my opinion.
Here it is:

I still support the comic book version of Kara going to the future to join the Legion to fight a future threat. The thing about time travel, she has all the time in the world to take care of any business she has in the present, say her goodbyes, have another order of potstickers and night of karaoke. The future will be there for her, she won't be late. The final scene should be the Danvers sisters snuggled on the couch for a sisters movie night, a bottle of wine and all their favorite snacks.

This would also allow her to say good to Barry and maybe even appear in one of those 5 Flash episodes without it diminishing her finale... plus, she could always return... it doesn't have to be a one-way ticket.

These are all great ideas!!! I had the idea of Kara going back to Argo, but that depends upon what happens with her dad. She could always return to Earth if she goes to Argo. But I have to agree with the idea of why she has to "leave" at all. I like the idea of her leaving Catco and turning the lights out. How cool would that be? I know I would love to "know" she is still in National City being Supergirl when the show ends. Going to the future is fine, but I would much rather "know" Supergirl is still out there in National City being Supergirl! :)

Kara takes Alex on an intergalactic tour, including Argo, and they work with alien refugees, including children that Alex helps foster. This would allow for some future travel, some return to Earth to visit friends there, to wrap up Jeremiah's story in a far more meaningful way, and to keep Kelly involved in Alex's story without monopolizing it. best of a lot of worlds and solves the problematic way the show has been dealing with Kara's love interests this whole time. more season 1 sensibilities, too.

I think I would also end it with her joining the Legion. They could write it that maybe in this continuity Mon-El is dead, so people don't complain that she is just leaving to be with a guy. She could even take Alex with her. And of course, to make it meaningful, the Legion, made up of new characters like Duo Damsel, Nia's great-great-great grandchild Dreamgirl and I dunno, Cosmic Boy would be joining a few episodes before the season ends so we can actually meet them first so it will be more meaningful if she leaves. They are all big fans of Kara, they bring news about Brainiac's relatives and ask Kara for help and guidance.

There would also be a big Arrowverse crossover as the finale fight and all the Arrowverse heroes who are still alive say goodbye to Kara as Kara goes to join the Legion. Time travel exists, so the door is open for her to return and they just don't define whether she goes to the Legion just for one adventure or for longer.

I don't want Kara to "retire" whether it is on Argo or on Earth.

I’d like for a cover version of “One Call Away”, by Melissa to be playing in the background.

Well, I just you tubed "One Call Away" by Charlie Puth who's a young songwriter from Jersey.;) I would be fine with that song for the ending scene. Not bad Brierrose.:o

I believe it played in the 2nd to last scene of season 1, when the entire group is in Kara's apartment, just before Mon-El's pod enters the atmosphere.

Ending the show with the same song would be a wonderful and poetic call back. Even more so, if it was a cover by Melissa.

Indeed it is the song playing during the second to last scene of season one and that’s why I chose it. It’s hard to believe at that time we didn’t know if there would be a season two.

I'm not sure how I would specifically end it other than two things.

1)Supergirl/Kara doesn't die.

I don't think she will now especially since Melissa's mention of the one thing she requested regarding the end of the series which she said she was happy wasn't even a issue.I believe that is,she doesn't/didn't want Kara to die at the end of the series.

2)I want the door to be left open for Melissa to make future appearances for a guest star spot in a crossover or another show like Superman & Lois.

Like what was just done with Black Lightning and Cress Williams.Ofcourse I'm finger crossing that Melissa will appear in the Flash five episode crossover like event that is kicking off The Flash season 8 since scherdule wise it sounds like a perfect set of circumstances time wise. The Flash begins filming in late July and will be filming the event for weeks since it's the first five episodes of the season.Supergirl wraps filming I think the second or third week of August.Melissa is already in Vancouver.Aside from taking a week for a COVID test/week quarantine before heading to The Flash set,it would be almost simultaneous going from wrapping Supergirl and than appearing in The Flash event.

And I also think it would be cool if she got to direct too.Like with David Ramsey appearing and directing the various Arrowverse shows along with appearing. As well as Tom Cavanagh returning for the 150th episode of The Flash and the season 7 finale(the last two episodes this season) and now he's gone over to direct the season 1 finale of Superman & Lois.

Getting a chance to direct again as well as appear in the event may make it even more worthwhile for Melissa to stick around a few more weeks.

We're getting into the dog days of August next week and the startup for the show is right around the corner. I hope a little bit of everyone's suggestions are used in the final episodes of the season. For me, I'm hoping the last scene is of Melissa singing her swan song. I'm changing my selection to "Forever Young" by Bob Dylan. I don't think there would be a dry eye in the audience.
