I think they have done a great job creating the character using all eras...however this season it is the story telling that is the problem for me....it has turned into the Alex/DEO show. Kara/Supergirl is what is best, just would like more of her as the central thread that ties all stories together.

Even if i haven't really read the comics before the show, i do agree with the character assessment and the fact that Kara is too much like Superman. ... (like Oliver is more Bruce Wayne than himself).
I really would like to see Supergirl being more smart (and supposedly a 8 level intellect) because she's independant and on a journey to becoming a great superhero, but when i read "the adventures of supergirl" she was different from the show. A little bit of balance between the two would be nice, and not just for an episode where she can outsmart a trickster
