This coming Thursday, which is Thanksgiving, at about 12:37 AM EST will be The Late Late Show with James Corden on CBS. Among the guests that night...Melissa Benoist...no doubt to hype the Crisis crossover. This is her first appearance on the show in 4 years since Supergirl was on CBS.

In fact...there is a little Instagram story with Melissa in the make-up room. Here she's on the I-G story of make-up artist Dave Stanwell.

Isn't she cute?

TLLS has a YouTube page by the way where they post clips.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to our U.S. members! (Thursday)

Try not to get caught up in the Black Friday madness at the malls. Tip: Online shopping is safer, more likely to yield good deals and keep your sanity intact, not to mention life and limbs! :)

Thank you, but your wishes are not belated!

US Thanksgiving is next Thursday. It arrives later in the month than usual this year. ?

Your shopping tips are well taken. I bunker down on Black Friday, at least when I'm not working that day!

@LibertyPrime;

Gee, I though it fell on the third Thursday of November. Moveable date this year, I guess. Nonetheless, the Black Friday advice still remains. Absolute chaos in the shops. :o

When I last visited the U.S. in 2014, it fell over the Thanksgiving/Black Friday period (was in Miami to join a cruise), made it a point NOT to be out in the crowds that day. :D :D :D

A little history about the date of Thanksgiving. It was originally established as the last Thursday of November by Abraham Lincoln, and remained so until Franklin Roosevelt changed it during the Great Depression to the 4th Thursday of November, as a means of extending the holiday shopping season to stimulate the economy. It has remained so ever since. This year it is the 28th. It can be as late as the 29th or as early as the 22nd, depending on the calendar.

BTW, that's good advice to avoid the Black Friday rat-race at the malls and do your shopping online. Those abroad may not know what Black Friday means. The Friday after Thanksgiving is also a holiday for many in the US, and is the traditional start of the holiday shopping season. Retailers named it Black Friday because it often was the day when their annual sales went into the "black"; in other words they were guaranteed a profitable year.

Robert,

There is another Thanksgiving treat coming up for you, too. I am currently working on a Thanksgiving-themed Supergirl fan-fiction story, to be titled "A National City Thanksgiving". I'll finish it over the next couple of days, and post a link to it on my personal Facebook page here. :)
By the way, I'm going to give Eliza Danvers a chance to shine a bit in this story, too. After all, Eliza's a biochemist, so she should certainly be able to help out with solving the "scientific puzzle" part of the story! Of course, I' really like to see her (Helen Slater) again on the TV show, too :)

Last year, I think it was on the 22nd, a day after my mom's birthday. And Bill I did not know FDR changed it so as to stimulate things during the depression...of course from 1941-1945, came WWII and we came out of it.

Just to be clear for some from abroad, the tradition of Thanksgiving goes back much farther than Lincoln, as it originated with settlers in Massachusetts in 1621, who were celebrating their first harvest (i.e., survival) in America. It continued off and on as an unofficial celebration until Lincoln made it a national holiday in 1863, partly in gratitude for the Union victory in the Battle of Gettysburg during the American Civil War.
