Earth Thirty-Eight? Earth 38?

I am new to this website but I couldn't help but ask something in connection to something I learned about the multiverse. Supergirl is said to be on Earth Thirty Eight but after looking that up I came to a website about Earth 38, an earlier used Earth for the DC universe, an Earth in which Supergirl is dead. It got me to worrying that this might mean that Supergirl is at least by the end of the series going to die. This is purely speculation and I really hope that is not how it ends. What do you guys think? Is this why they used Earth Thirty Eight?

The Earth numberings in the comics have nothing to do with the numbering on the TV shows. The producers have said they chose to call this show’s universe Earth 38 because here in the real world, Superman first appeared in the comics in 1938. I doubt there’s more to it than that.

Yes, exactly!
I seriously doubt that the showrunners would ever kill off the main character. (I don't think you need to be concerned about that!)
My best guess is that the series will end with Kara getting married in the finale, and settling into middle-aged superhero family life - like Elasti-Girl in "The Incredibles".

Thanks to both of you for responding. I just thought it was kind of an interesting and worrisome coincidence. I guess with the other shows seemingly having at least one important character dying I can't help but wonder who that character will be on this show. I hope nobody.

Welcome to the site. This show has lost completely or had reduced presence of several characters but you’re right no significant deaths. RIP Cat Co intern Kelly.
