The episode 5.4 Parasite Lost featured a shape shifting street perfomer.
Which made me wonder, what effect does the presence of aliens have on Earth 38's entertainment industry.
Are alien street performers a relatively common thing? Do they have alien acrobats, magicians, and musicians. What about actors, or athletes.
Are aliens allowed into the screen actors guild? Or do they have to pass as human?
Do they have super durable alien stunt actors? Do monster movies feature non humonoid alien actors? Would shape shifting actors have several sets of headshots?
Aside from the supers are there alien celebrities. Are there any non humonoid celebrities. (I hope so! just imagine swampthing appearing on a talkshow to promote The Shape of Water)
Shows like Sesame Street often deal with social issues in a way that children can understand. How do they approach the topic of aliens? Is there an alien equivalent of the amigo song
Are there alien genres of music? Like Nth Metal, or Pulsar techno, or Rigelton? There could even be genres that humans couldn't hear because it uses frequencies outside the range of human hearing. Wouldn't that be wild, going to an alien nightclub and seeing aliens dancing to music you can't even hear.
And what about alien sports? The planets they came from probably have different sports. If you walk through an alien neighborhood would you see kids playing a pickup game of [popular alien sport]? Do they have Alien Ninja Warrior? Or what about professional leagues? I imagine a sport where the players can literally fly would be fun to watch.
The possibilities are endless.
What do you guys think would be best form of alien entertainment?
I'm torn between an all alien cast of Pippin, and seeing a professional Quidditch game.

Haha! You bring up some interesting points, Gavagai! Just what does a world where aliens are as prevalent as they are look like?
I always wondered what types of activities Kara was able to be involved in when she was growing up. Quiz bowl? Sports? Glee Club?
Her abilities were so outstanding in all of the areas, that I would guess she couldn't really do anything that could potentially draw attention to herself.
You mention separate alien activities but, how does inter-competition work? Are aliens allowed to participate in sports, along side of humans, when they have such a clear advantage? Or do they have to form their own leagues? What about game shows? Is a telepathic able to go on and sweep in all categories? And, in such instances, is it legal to ask if someone is an alien?
Maybe they would have an Alien Olympics where there are multiple events to showcase different alien talents? Why am I suddenly reminded of The Hunger Games?

It's hard to say because it isn't clear just how big the alien population is. Mabye National City has a larger alien population than most. Actually it would be suprising if National City didn't have an above average alien population given that Shelly Island, which apparently is the intersteller equivalent to Ellis island is there. (It would be nice if they mentioned that before. Wouldn't Shelly Island make for a great photo opp when the president signed the alien amnesty act in season 2? But I digress) as well as serve as the adopted hometown of one of the best known and best loved aliens on Earth. It would make sense that Aliens would feel more drawn to National City than, say, Atlanta.
It isn't clear whether there is a big enough alien population to have their own separate leagues for Earth sports. (It's also possible that aliens aren't that interested in Earth sports. They have sports that involve dragons, they might think Earth sports are a bit dull in comparison)
It would also depend on the sport, and the superpower. I think full contact sports would have to have separate leagues for super strong athletes, because they can be a danger to others on the feild. But if your superpower is the ability to fly but not strength there's no reason why you shouldn't play football as long as they add a rule against flying during the game. But they might be hesitant to let you play basketball. As far as the quiz show goes they could have telepath dampeners or they could employ a telepath to monitor contestants. Actually that would be useful to catch all sorts of cheating. They could even form an independent anti cheating agenecy that game shows could hire to make sure that everything is on the up and up.
I mentioned alien sports because that would probably be the easiest in. They aren't competing with humans, so there would be no resistance on the "they're taking our jobs" front. They already have a built-in alien fan-base. and it is probably fairly easy to attract a sizable human fan-base, because it would be novel and exiciting.
Imagine a game of Lacrosse where all the players can fly. Wouldn't you want to check it out even if you aren't all that interested in Lacrosse?
This season is the first time they addressed how the alien population would effect ordinary people. But so far they have barely skimmed the surface. (For one thing we don't know long aliens have been on Earth, it's implied that there has been some surge in alien immigrants relatively recently, but we are given no timeline or even a reason why that would be the case, is there some space war going on? Some galactic natural disaster?)
It seems that aliens should affect Earth 38' culture more than the show suggests. Not just entertainment either, Alien technology, knowledge, and abilities should be of great interest to Governments; Armies; Tech, Travel, and Energy Industries; Academics etc.
I doubt the show will be able to address everything but hopefully they will dig a bit deeper now that how aliens effect ordinary humans is a major plot point.

It was only a little over 3 years ago that Kara briefly tried to convince her best friend that “there’s no such thing as aliens.” Unless that conversation is one of those inconsistencies that we in the audience are supposed to conveniently ignore, public knowledge of the presence of aliens other than Superman is still a very new thing on Earth 38. Human culture hasn’t had time to change that much since Myriad made the alien presence generally known.
A few of the other areas you mention have been touched on a little bit. For example, we know the US government was experimenting on aliens for military purposes for many years. That’s why Jeremiah Danvers agreed to work for the DEO: to keep Kara from becoming one of those experiments.

It was only a little over 3 years ago that Kara briefly tried to convince her best friend that “there’s no such thing as aliens.” Unless that conversation is one of those inconsistencies that we in the audience are supposed to conveniently ignore, public knowledge of the presence of aliens other than Superman is still a very new thing on Earth 38. Human culture hasn’t had time to change that much since Myriad made the alien presence generally known.I think there might have been a change in the alien arrival and the extent of their population somewhere after Season 1. They apparently have enough arrivals each year that they needed to build a port of entry at Shelly Island and that they're becoming a threat to humans in securing jobs.
I remember an episode of Star Trek Voyager when they had spacecraft races at one of the posts. It was a fun episode. I definitely think that using an inhibitor (which are evidently easily obtained) would help a great deal to keep things more even between humans and aliens.
