There was mention at SDCC by EP Jessica Queller that James will have a new love interest in Season 3. I'm thinking that it could possibly be Reign!!! Any thoughts??

As long as the focus is on Supergirl/Kara and we don't get anymore episodes like "Ace Reporter" where we have 3 minutes of Supergirl at the end, thank goodness for the fun stuff with Mon-El that is what saved that ep for me, but I want more Supergirl kicking arse... and that's it....or "Lost Children" where we less than 9 minutes of Kara and Supergirl total. I don't want anymore of those episodes.

So, no more of that stuff, and I'm cool with whatever they do with the supporting characters.

So let me get this straight. All you want is Supergirl kicking Arse? Like Serious Arse ;)

I'm picturing a crack episode with Kara flying and Super speeding around kicking arse. The supporting cast is following her around with their specialty gadgets or gear as a Chorus Line, and every time she finishes kicking arse, there's a .'hallelujah, she kicked ass'.

Unfortunately, I think it will either be Lena or Reign judging by all the hugging and hugging and hugging Mechad gave to Katie and Odette at SDCC. I'm leaning towards Reign. Which I'm not too happy about as I really, REALLY wanted the Reign story to be very personal for Kara as the story unfolds. I'm hoping they will stay close to her comic origins and Kara's Father had a hand in her creation.

But in all honestly, it feels like another reboot for James Character. Season 3, James Olsen Version 3. I hope third time's a charm for Mechad's sake.

I'm actually really not interested in romantic arcs for supporting characters.

Amen to that. I honestly don't know why there must be love interests left, right and center. (cough, Winn and Lyra. Groan) I wish the writers of these shows would take a page from life, and just start the season with a great story and then allow the characters to organically move in the direction of romantic interests. If there even needs to be one. Other than the leading character, where is the urgency in love interests for every character in a live action comic book show?

Soooo....an actor accidentally spilled who James' new love interest is gonna be. Didn't wanna post it here and spoil it for anyone but I'm sure if you wanna know you can find out through twitter.

Thanks. I interpreted that tweet differently.

We'll see but I think that's a guest spot. She's a series regular on another show.

If it is, it wouldn't surprise me. Provided the writers and EPs can keep the story focus on Kara, it shouldn't be such a distraction in the overall scheme of things. We'll have to wait and see.

I don't think so. I think they'll give him someone that can become a long term love interest.

He said in one of the interviews that the love interest brings HUGE changes to everyone's life. I think was the wording....so I don't think it is a long term love...i think it is one of the villains.

Interesting. I hope it's not Reign though because I'd feel really bad for him. Thanks for the info!

In one of the group interviews they asked "James" about the love interest and he said she might still be cast, or she might be in this very room (which had Reign, Lena and Kara). So I think there's a chance it could be Reign.

It would also fit with the writers saying this season was about characters exploring what humanity means, so maybe Reign does it via falling in love with James?

We briefly discussed this very idea under the admin's trailer posting. Had wondered the same thing. But, oh man....if true, poor Jimmy Olsen. Dude can't catch a break--Lucy, Kara, Reign a biochemically engineered worldkiller..... :p

What would be nice if it was Psi or Reign, not having to add yet another character into the mix, taking away even more valued screen-time from our current faves.
