See Stephen Amell’s twitter

Whether that means Crisis will still happen is unknown. Whether that is a catalyst for the end of rest of the shows is also unknown.

A quick note from Eric (the admin). I've watched Arrow before Supergirl even was created so I've been a fan. I had the great privileged of meeting Stephen a few times and he is incredible, genuine and truly appreciates the fans. While I've built sites dedicated to the heroes that most interest me and my wife Kelsey, Arrow will be missed and if I had the time I would have created a site for Arrow as well.

This photo of Kelsey, Caity Lotz and Stephen basically sums up the Stephen I met perfectly, genuine and fun:

It will be quite interesting at Comic-Con coming up in July how things will play out.

Thanks a million Stephen for your wonderful portrayal of Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (especially Season 5 and all scenes with Grant Gustin), much enjoyment has been had watching you over the past few years.

I like the respect shown to Stephen by letting him announce the news plus not carrying on the show without him.

I'll look forward to what's in store for the final 10 episodes, make it a good one.

So surely Arrow's final episode (# 170?) won't be the Arrow part of the CoIE crossover. It definitely deserves it's own farewell so if Oliver does indeed die during the Crisis I'm thinking a finale episode to be of his funeral with eulogies from Felicity, Diggle and Barry Allen mixed in with flashbacks of his life.

Somehow this was expected and telegraphed during this past season's crossover. The 10 episode run in the autumn will lead into the Crisis crossover and this is likely where Oliver Queen / Arrow's story ends.

It's been a good run by any stretch of the imagination and I wish Stephen and the cast well as they embark on different projects and life events.

Big thanks to Stephen and Arrow the show that started it all. I could never get into Arrow, it’s too dark for me, but without it we wouldn’t have any of the other shows.

I think it all but confirms Oliver sacrificed himself for Kara and Barry. One way this could be handled from the networks perspective is Batwoman takes over the timeslot with a shorter episode count similar to LoT and Black Lightning.

You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders.

He also made the announcement on his Facebook page. It looks like Arrow dies in the crossover.
