Any repercussions for Alex?

I think there may be repercussions for everyone involved.

J'onn disobeyed the president to rescue Mon-El, in "Distant Sun". Alex hesitated with the cannon. And I hate to say it, but Supergirl isn't blameless. The whole battle started because Kara was unwilling to let Mon-El leave the planet in "Distant Sun". If Kara and J'onn had obeyed the president's orders, the whole invasion would have been averted.

By the end, not only did Mon-El still have to leave the planet, but it'd be naive to think that civilians didn't die in the Daxamite invasion. I doubt they'll address this in season 3, but it does kinda bother me. Kara put her boyfriend above the safety of hundreds, if not thousands, of civilians.

It's not as bad as Barry on The Flash, but Kara definitely fell down the hole of "causing her own problems" near the end of this season.

Sadly, I think this is one of many plot holes that sneak in each episode. My first thought to your question was... would the President push for Alex to be reprimanded--knowing Alex could retaliate and expose her as an alien? My next thoughts then went to how J'onn actually disobeyed a direct Presidential order to allow Kara and crew to save Mon-El from Rhea. THEN I started thinking how self righteous the writing was in Season 1--politically speaking out against Gitmo through James, but then in Season 2 having James take baseball bats to thieves.

So, after all these things, my thought to your question is this... I bet the writers will never address it, though they really need to fix these types of plotholes. If you've ever watched 24, Jack Bauer would regularly go against authority. But they always had him face consequences. That was part of the intensity of the show--would he or wouldn't he have to disobey orders and what would be the reprocussions.

Agreed. If Kara had left with Mon El rather than trying to reason with Rhea to surrender, which was before the cannon was destroyed, there also would have been a different conclusion.

But then.....Kara would not have been true to herself seeing the good in all people.

Considering how bad this show is with continuity and plot holes, I doubt it.

Even if they addressed it I think it'd just get swept under the rug, or the President would pardon Alex or something. The President knows she needs Supergirl and Alex and team to keep the world safe and wouldn't want to compromise that.

Should Alex face SOME kind of punishment...yes...should it be severe like say the POTUS calling for her to be fired from the DEO which had to work with the federales given the incredible level of danger to never work again for them? NO! A short-term suspension...say 60 days...mmmm...possible. Of course if Jonn tells POTUS the merger is now off, this would be predictable and another plot hole and leave Alex in the clear. Also if POTUS could pardon Alex and it all gets swept under the rug and another plothole comes up driven by progressive politics.

If we were looking at reality, she would be fired and possibly court marshaled. Not gonna happen here, and probably knowing some of the writing and the short memory of the writing staff....nothing will happen.

I hope she does. It'd be a nice growth arc for both of them.

Just to be clear: I don't think she was morally wrong by the way; I think she should have never been put in that position given the clear conflict of interest. (At this point, Alex, J'onn and Winn all have conflicts when you consider DEO's primary mission. Kara and Mon El are contradictions too.) But, still, what makes a story like this interesting and valuable is when you need to do the right thing by going against the rules; and have to face consequences for doing the right thing.

But, yeah... there is little chance she will. If she does face consequences, I will be impressed.
