From 1966, when Supergirl was a student at Stanhope College - Action Comics 339

Superman was "off world", on a space mission with the Justice League. Suddenly, a radio news bulletin about a spaceship hovering over Metropolis!

"You better go and lie down, Miss Danvers!"

Of course, the spaceship turned out to be Brainiac's, and as you can see, Kara was just as impulsive (and perhaps a bit reckless)back then, flying straight into the force field with no concern for her own safety. But of course, she triumphed in the end, although Brainiac escaped to fight another day. And just then, cousin Clark returned to get the news!

Fun as always Stewart, loved that panel that showed Supergirl flying away from school and someone remarks "Holy Hat...." :) .


Maybe that was Robin :D

Oh that's right - this was in Stanhope, California, not Gotham City! Ooops ;)
