Now that we've had a "return to Midvale" episode, how about a "Stanhope College Reunion" story? By the way, it makes sense that Midvale may be a stand-in for a northern California coastal city like Monterey or Santa Cruz (as some were saying in news feature comments). "Stanhope College" sounds like a thinly-disguised Stanford - which of course is in northern California.
Here, check out this 60s Action Comics cover - the "Stanhope College" campus has an administration-building tower that looks very much like the real one on the Stanford campus. In fact, it's right behind the one Kara is standing on:

I’m all for a Flashback episode, Stewart. I would think it would be a lot of fun, as long as we have the sisters together.

"I could totally see her as a teacher, too!"

Come to think of it, that might be a good idea for an episode or two. Kara takes a leave of absence from CatCo for a while and fills in for a teacher she's friendly with. The interaction between teen students and Kara / Supergirl would be great to see on screen!
Maybe it could be called "Our Miss Danvers" (though I'm not sure how many today would get the reference)!

The age group they are wanting to hit would not get that...lol

The only potential problem with the idea of a college flashback or reunion episode as proposed by Stewart is that Kara apparently didn't go to "Stanhope" in this "universe".

Last season's revelation by Cat Grant that she had written reporter on Kara's resume before she hired her had a freeze-frame bonus in it: the resume had Kara attending "National City University" and graduating with a degree in "Marketing".

Of course the showrunners could ignore that or retcon it.

Interestingly, since the sweatshirt Lena apparently borrowed from Sam when she stayed over with her in "Damage" was from "NCU" as well (Lena mentioned being an MIT grad at some point, as I recall), that would mean that two Kryptonian women went to the same Earth college!

"Nice idea Stewart, are you proposing a flashback to Kara's College Days or a Reunion?."

Either one would be fine for me! In fact, I already did a Stanhope Reunion in my fan fiction series;

Interesting.... I was going by Sterling Gates' story line in the "Adventures of Supergirl" comics series. In that story line (which parallels the TV show), Kara did in fact go to Stanhope. (It is mentioned by name...)

I think Mel and Chyler could easily pull off their college day flashbacks. Remember, they already did in one of the Season 1 deleted scenes in Alex's loft. Even if that was Chyler getting a master's... Still doable. After all, Jeremy just last year went back and played teenager Jack Kelly in Newsies :D Olivia Newton-John, John Travolta and crew played high school.... Speaking of high school... One word.... Glee.

OK, guys - I've started on my own version of "Kara as a teacher at Midvale High". And yes, I'm going to call it "Our Miss Danvers". (Kara loves old movies, so she's probably seen the film version of "Our Miss Brooks", right?)
I've already come up with some ideas for a plot line. I'll post a link to it here when I'm finished!

BTW, did you see today's "Foxtrot" comic strip in the papers? Another one with a comic-book theme!

Hmmm....if it is going to be Chyler and Melissa playing the parts then no to a college flashback this season. The whole point of the flashbacks for me is getting to see these two young actors play their adult counterparts. So, if we need to wait until say the 6th season for a College Flashback episode, then I'll wait.

Yes, according to Sterling Gates' story line in the "Adventures of Supergirl" comics series, Alex is actually a biomedical engineer. So she would have been in a graduate-school engineering program (probably with a B.S. in biology first.)

"The resume had Kara attending "National City University" and graduating with a degree in "Marketing".

Yes, now that you mention it, I remember that discussion. But I really wouldn't think of Kara as the type to pursue a business degree. (It seems a little out of character to me.) In the 70s and 80's comics, she was studying psychology in college and then later became a guidance counselor at the New Athens Experimental School. Now that sounds more like the sort of "helping profession" I would expect Kara to aspire to. (I could totally see her as a teacher, too!)

It seems you guys are wanting a totally different show, for me..no. I'm loving what we have, I loved this past episode and if it isn't along those lines I would say no go. She could begin get some sleuthing in as a reporter for the Midvale news, and even the town newspaper here and there. Yes, that would be a lot like "Smallville" but the writing could take it a different direction, and pull in more of what you guys are talking about in helping people out....so kind of merge the two together. Bring in more of a Veronica Mars/Scooby Gang type of thing. And not have it a full season, maybe only 13 episodes during the summer, before the reruns of Supergirl....it would take the 7/8 p.m. slot, Supergirl the 8/9 slot in the summer. I think it would be fun, not a whole lot of FX, and make it a really character driven series....Supergirl the Early Years.:
