And my having Kara play guitar with a surf band really isn't all that fantastic. There are still surf bands around today -and not just from the original home in southern California, either. In fact, the sound has traveled far and wide. Here's two members of a Canadian band (from the Toronto area) called the Surfrajettes (love that name!), playing live a few years back at Norm's Rare Guitars in Los Angeles. (The song is "Diamond Head" by the Ventures.)
