In 2016, the Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Illinois had two Supergirl actors among their celebrity guests: Mehcad Brooks and Peter Facinelli. For 2017 there were no Supergirl actors in the lineup, until Erica Durance cancelled. The event's organizers have managed to replace her with Dean Cain.
Superman is still saving the day in Metropolis, and his role as Jeremiah Danvers means the event has Supergirl actors two years in a row.
Well truth be told there will be at least ONE Lois Lane...namely Margot Kidder of the Chris Reeve films. And speaking of Lois, from the Celebration's website...
I wish Noel was still alive so she could play Grandma Danvers. There is only ONE PERSON still alive from the Adventures of Superman TV show...the first TV Lois, Phyllis Coates who turned 90 last January! Well, Mr. Berlanti...if you want a Grandma Danvers and want to link to fans of Mr. George Reeves...here's your chance.
The Celebration this year will be dedicated to the memory of Noel Neill, who portrayed Lois Lane in the Adventures of Superman television series. Neill, was a repeat guest to the Superman Celebration for many years and was even given the title “First Lady of Metropolis” when a statue of her portraying Lois Lane was revealed in her honor. Neill passed away in July of 2016.
