For Good Synopsis

Supergirl is nearly back and we are so excited! Furthermore, the official press release for episode 312 is out! Without knowing too much about how Reign will eventually be stopped in her current rampage, it would seem that through the efforts of Livewire, Psi, Saturn Girl and Supergirl in episode 311, she is eventually stopped because Samantha is back in control. Sam is also going to confide in her new friend Alex that she's been losing time (basically black outs when Reign is in control). That isn't all though, a nearly successful murder attempt on Morgan Edge puts Lena back in his cross hairs. Only Kara and keep Lena from going to the dark Luthor site! Check out the official synopsis below!

MORGAN EDGE THREATENS LENA – Someone tries to kill Morgan Edge (guest star Adrian Pasdar) and he barely survives. He accuses Lena (Katie McGrath) of being behind the attempt and vows to destroy her. When Lena fears her hatred for Morgan will take her to the Luthor dark side, Kara (Melissa Benoist) steps in to help her friend. Meanwhile, after Sam (Odette Annable) realizes she’s losing time, she confides in Alex (Chyler Leigh) who decides to run some medical tests to see if she can find out what’s going on with her new friend.

Okay on the 13th episode, but even so I think the Sam reveal could be the cliff hanger. If so, Alex probably finds out at the end of this episode that Sam is an alien and then, next episode, the Reign connection, owing to whatever reason, becomes clear. And then, she tells Kara and Kara struggles with it.

"Absolutely agree! A nice turnabout to the "evil Luthor" storyline. Leave that aspect to Lex and Lillian."

Thanks!
Also, don't forget that in the original Silver Age Supergirl comics, Lena (then called "Lena Thorul", an anagram of Luthor) was always one of Kara's best friends!

Here's a good example: https://flic.kr/p/KSk8pT

"It's pretty obvious they don't know what to do with Lena hence this repetitive, boring Morgan Edge cycle."

Yes - why not just show us that Lena already knows that Kara is Supergirl? (She'd have to be pretty dense not to have figured it out by now!) And then make her a regular part of the Supergirl Team - like I have in my fan fiction series. After all, Lena has plenty of personal experiences that she could draw from, so she would be asset to the Team.
And make Morgan Edge an consistent enemy of Supergirl and Superman, like he is in the comics...

Just make Lena evil already we know its coming and has too if not then ship her off the show. And get Kara and Mon-El back together and get him a cape too While your at it and his iconic colors on his suit too.

I've always said they would once they get viewers committed to liking her enough so the change over to bad girl Luthor will hurt and be more emotional. Makes for better TV. However I don't feel this will happen under next season, or tie it into a cliff hanger going into next season. Too much going on and not enough time left in this season to do it right.

I'm afraid you are right on this...

Same here. Just a use as filler...or to hammer the viewers with they progressive politics! Possible EPIC FAIL.

This really has the feel of a "filler" episode. Not real excited, so I hope I am in store for a big surprise because this sounds like a snoozer.

This would put an end to the solid streak of about seven or eight episodes so I would tend to agree with you Kelly...slimeball misandry/misogyny Edge notwithstanding

I agree that this will be the episode that the DEO and Supergirl find out about the Sam/Reign connection but, most likely the results won't be in until the end of the Ep. That will then lead right into the next, which as previously noted, is titled "Both Sides Now." Perhaps this will pertain to Lena as well regarding her straddling the line between good/bad.

So, it appears that they're trying to also establish a close friendship between Alex/Sam, I suppose through Ruby, which honestly would seem more authentic than between Kara/Sam given Ruby as the connection. Hopefully, this is not going to water down Alex even more as an established DEO field agent in the fight against Reign for the remaining part of the season.

Yeah maybe the 'both sides now' will have them somehow talking to both Sam and Reign in the same episode, maybe switching between personalities while she's in confinement or something, as they try to figure this out. I can see maybe Ruby being kept in the DEO for her own safety too until the Reign thing is figured out, also maybe with the DEO concern about having another kryptonian in Ruby as well.
