Part three of our four part oasis in early 2018 comes to us in the form of episode 312, "For Good". Exposing our knowledge of musical productions, we were quite curious if this episode was going to have the common corollary to the song "For Good" from Wicked. With Kara being the more powerful Elphaba, and Lena being the publicly clean but privately turbulent Glenda, Edge's involvement could push Glenda er, we mean, Lena toward a dastardly response to his attempt on her life. Did Kara keep Lena from the dark side? Did Purity make a powerful debut? All are answered in our review of "For Good" just below:
- Edge's Brakes are Cut: After a pretty brutal conversation between Lena, James and Edge, Morgan gets into his car and drives off, however the brakes are cut and the car seems to drive itself. From there, Edge manages to get out of the car going through the trunk. Who really set up Edge at this point is a mystery, but Edge's singular focus on Lena coupled with some bad timing at breakfast put Lena into harms way. How cool was it that Kara caught whatever Edge threw though?
- Sam is Human: Sam goes through some intense medical testing under Alex's supervision and I think we all were on the edge of our seats when Alex wanted to take a blood sample. Would the needle go in? Would it bend? What we learned is that it seems like Reign and Sam are a true Jekyll and Hyde situation. When Sam is in control, she is human. When she was shot during Lena's speech in episode 2, it must have been Reign taking control for a brief moment to save her.
- Lena is Poisoned: Edge backed up his backup plan! After poisoning Lena via her coffee at her favorite cart, he hired a sniper to take out the person who did the poisoning! James was in pursuit but didn't get there in time. Kara, where seconds mean life and death, decides to take Lena to the DEO without changing into Supergirl! When she arrives, Supergirl as Kara freezes or at least cools Lena so that she can be saved. One of the best moments we liked about this scene is how smart Alex came off. She had the doctor level knowledge covered as well as the secret agent level stuff! Awesome.
- Lillian Luthor Returns: Well this was a pleasant surprise! After discovering that the bullet used to kill the would-be assassin was made of a dissolving material that L Corp developed, Lena is led back to her mother, Lillian! They end up having a pretty powerful discussion where Lillian acts like the devil upon Lena's shoulder asking for her permission to kill Morgan. In the end, Lena accepts possibly selling her soul in the process.
- Lex Suit Battle: Lena is reminded that she is a strategic thinker and can out-think many of her opponents! Using this as an opportunity, she develops a plan to get Lillian and Edge while no one dies. This leads to the coolest reveal of the Lex Suit ever! Lillian uses the suit, much like Ironman, to get into attack mode against Supergirl. It was actually Mon-El who showed up and with the help of Winn, they were able to bring Lillian down. Guardian was able to show up too and help Lena by stopping Edge from running off with the confession. All in all, it was an incredible team effort by all our characters.
Wrap up moments: Kara and Mon-El have a sweet moment while passing through the DEO. Winn makes a huge discovery that leads to the first look at a second Worldkiller, and lets not forget, Lillian doesn't think she'll be in prison for very long!

Can't wait to see her team up with Supergirl against Purity tonight!!
Steal a scene from Supergirl? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, that's funny.
Most likely the DEO has that suit under lock and key. When Monty gets his colorful super hero suit he will look legitimate and awesome and steal any scene he's in.
I thought of referring to Mon-el as Monty last season. I felt it was fitting of his character. But now he's changed but I still like Monty better then Mon-el. To me he will always be the overgrown puppy dog. lol
I agree, the acting was great from all parties. Katie and Brenda are DYNAMITE when on screen together, their scenes were by far my favorites of the episode. Lillian in the war suit was really fun to watch; anyone have any clue as to where the suit is now? Did the DEO take it?
Question for you muckle, why do you refer to Mon-el as Monty? Lol I'm genuinely curious..
As for his suit, he'll be getting it really soon. Chris posted a selfie the other day and you could see that he was wearing the suit.
I've never seen any President take as many negative hits in my life. Every award show, late night show and since Trump was elected, now Supergirl. Who could forget our girl of steel at the Washington,D.C. march with her sign proudly raised with the words, Hey Donald, you want to grab by pussy, it's made of steel. lol
Did you watched the CW's midseason promo?
Probably won't happen, since anything can be construed as 'political' with a thin-skinned realty show celebrity occupying the WH these days. Topicality pretty much entered this series' vocabulary when Jeb Bush sexually objectified the star of the show on the campaign trail over two years ago. So actually, the series never started the conversation.
I never saw the X Files. but I too am more liberal than conservative yet would rather tone down any political messages.
