Believe it or not, it's only two days away until a new episode of Supergirl airs! We've been so excited for it and tonight, in an unprecedented Friday night release, we have our first sneak peek at the premiere. Supergirl is actually absent from this clip but it features our favorite sister, Alex, and new DEO agent, Brainy! First and foremost, it's clear from this clip that Alex has not lost her badassness! She is in her top form and is teaching new DEO agents the art of hand-to-hand combat! The surprise, however, comes from Brainy and a very special guest he was supposed to warn Alex about. Check it out below:

Additionally, there was a sneak peek before this one that featured Kara, but it was an exclusive to EW so we didn't post.
IMHO, this seems a bit harsh and out of place on a fansite that has always been characterized by civility in its discussions (thankfully, as far as I'm concerned).
Yes, I agree - there's no point in criticizing the show's writers before the new season actually begins. But for what it's worth, I also think that Bob made some valid points about the writing, based on what we've seen in previous seasons (particularly #2 and #3).
It's pretty normal of the series to feature supporting players in the first clips, and then show a preview with the main heroine just before the episode airs. It helps build up the overall tone of new changes in store for this season.
Oh, and probably should wait until the premiere actually airs before one spouts off with the usual laundry list of ill-conceived 'suggestions'. They usually look pretty out of place afterwards.
I love that the Supergirl series exists. I love Melissa in the role. I love that we are getting a fourth season. Maybe I should be content about all of that and keep my criticisms to myself, but I really wish the writers and producers did a better job with the show. I wish that instead of celebrating the show's longevity I could be complimenting it for great writing, or respect for the integrity of the characters, or even some consistency in the power level of Kara.
Here are a few suggestions for season 4. Too late, I know, but so be it.
1. I never want to see another heat vision duel. It's never made any sense, it's lazy filler and it's been way overused.
2. If other heroes, like Guardian, Martian Manhunter or others are featured, please don't minimize Supergirl's screen time. Action scenes can include other protagonists, but the focus should still be on Kara.
3. Stop adjusting Supergirl's power level to suit the needs of individual scenes. When a man-made robot can fight toe to toe with Supergirl in one episode, and then later she can lift an entire city-sized ship into space, it makes the writing staff look foolish. Just pick a level and stick with it. Preferably not so strong that establishing credible opponents becomes a big problem.
4. Writers, please put some effort into making your political statements a bit more subtle. Go ahead and do that stuff, but put some art into it rather than being really obvious and heavy-handed.
