How do we even start with this recap. This was unlike anything that has ever happened before! Five hours, countless shows, so many cameos and fan service! WOW, Crisis on Infinite Earths really lived up to the hype, its source material, and the madness that comes from playing with the entire multi-verse of characters! There were so many things that stood out over the last two hours of this five hour event. We'll try and put it all together in this two hour recap:
- Mar Novu: The Monitor was a time traveler who, with his wife, tried to visit the dawn of time. His trip corrupted the beginning of the universe and he came face to face with his opposite, The Anti-Monitor. This meeting pierced the barrier between the multiverse and the anti-multiverse.
- The Vanishing Point: Stuck at the Vanishing point for months, the paragons try and create a way out. Barry has left to enter the speed force but what took a few seconds for him actually took months. Lex is trying to create a transporter with leftover Time Masters tech but it isn't working. When all hope seems lost, Oliver returns to the paragons as The Spectre! He claims the speed force is the key to saving everyone! The Spectre tells the paragons that there is a two-fold plan. One team must go and fight the anti-monitor at the dawn of time and the other must go to Multis, a planet where Mar Novu made his original time travel trek that freed the Anti-Monitor.
- The Speed Force: After dropping Kara, Lex and Ryan off on Multis, The Anti-Monitor pushed Barry out of the Speed Force. The problem, if they fall out of the Speed Force they die in Anti-Matter. Oliver, now the Spectre, uses his powers to hold everyone in the Speed Force but can't keep them there long. Barry must find the others in the infinite Speed Force and bring them together. Using his memories of their greatest successes and failures he begins to navigate to find the others. He then runs into himself, Ezra Miller's The Flash from the DCEU!
- Lex Betrays: Of course as we could almost tell you, Lex betrays Supergirl and Ryan. He upgraded himself a bit with the Book of Destiny and uses his new powers to attack the other two. He then takes off to complete his own plan. Kara and Ryan wake up after the attack and head on to try and find Lex and Mar. Meanwhile, Barry is traveling through memories in the Speed Force. He goes to Elseworlds where Superman and Green Arrow defeat Deagan. Barry speaks with Oliver and reminds him who he is and why they are there. He remembers he is the Spectre and encourages Barry to keep searching for the others.
- Barry Finds The Rest: Barry is able to find J'onn, Sarah and Kate by racing through Oliver's memories. Back on Multis, Lex finds Mar first. He subdues his wife and convinces him to talk about his time travel experience. He wants to cut a deal where the Monitor uses his newly gained powers to help Lex after Lex shares his knowledge of the future. Just then, Supergirl blows open the doors and asks to speak with Lex. Supergirl fights Lex and Ryan convinces Mar not to do the experience. However, once Flash grabs Lex, Supergirl and Ryan from Multis and takes them to the dawn of time, The Anti-Monitor is already there. He claims that in the infinite universes, there is always one Mar Novu who completes the experience and creates the doorway to the Anti-Multiverse.
- The Battle at the Dawn of Time: The Paragons need to fight the Anti-Monitor and his demons so that Oliver can take on The Anti-Monitor. In a moment not known to them, the Paragons will do what they need to do to fan the flames. Oliver is able to defeat the Anti-Monitor and the Paragons give each of their virtues to the rebirth of the Multiverse. Oliver passes at the Dawn of Time, and we fade out.
- My Earth is Your Earth: Supergirl wakes up in her apartment and feels like the whole Crisis was a dream. Still scared, she is awakened by Alex and shoots her heat vision through a wall. She gets a call from Nia who tells Kara she needs to get to the award ceremony. We then find out Lex Luthor gets an award for Peace! Supergirl heads to the DEO where she finds out that things have changed and the DEO is a subsidiary of Lex Corp. She heads to an alarm at the DEO to stop Weather Witch when Barry arrives. It appears they are all on the same Earth.
- Time to Remember: The Multiverse has been compressed into one singular universe. National City exists with Central City and Argo is even restored. J'onn takes it upon himself to give all the heroes their memories back so they know what has happened. The Paragons retain their memories. Now, basically everyone comes together to find that Oliver didn't make it. Just then, a giant Beebo begins to attack in Star City.
- Shadows and Anti-Monitor Return: The Shadows of the Anti-Monitor are wreaking havoc across the single Earth. The Anti-Monitor reforms to take his vengeance against the Paragons. He enlarges himself into something huge. "Sky team" Supergirl, Superman and Martian Manhunter take to the skies to fight him. A plan is formed to build a shrink bomb and reduce him from existence. The team came together and were able to destroy the Anti-Monitor.
Final wrap up moments. The Arrwoverse is now on one Earth. Earth-Prime! The Multi-verse however did form but all the Paragons now share a single Earth. Stargirl is now on Earth 2, Brandon Routh's Superman continued on Earth 96 and so on! While Oliver did not come back, the Justice League was essentially formed and now, on Earth-Prime, we have all our heroes on the same Earth!

That is funny that his cameo was with Supergirl and Flash, the two most prominent deaths in the comic.
Kinda funny watching him fanboying over the two characters he killed off in the original comics.
Part 5 was the most enjoyable for me, and I'm happy the PTB finally merged the Arrowverse into one.

I concur 100%. But, we're in the increasing minority. Unless the CoIE reset actually resets the S5 clock as it really should, we've gotta lump it. The Powers That Be have made it so. Too bad the Monitor is simply a fictitious character and couldn't actually go back to the moment in time to when they made the decision to do the switch.
Thank you Kiwi - I did not know about Marv Wolfman - I love learning and seeing these things about the comics.
A couple of nice scenes there jacksc, I believe Marv was actually Marv Wolfman who wrote the Crisis on Infinite Earths comic book back in the 1980's making a cameo appearance. That was certainly a nice touch.
Another nice little thing I enjoyed was Supergirl using her X-ray vision to ensure Ryan had no broken bones.
Still Oliver shouldn't be the first superhero.
Kiwi that was also one of my favorite moments. The two scenes that I also liked were:
1. Call me sappy but I liked it when SuperGirl woke and didn't know where she was and at the end of her conversation with Alex - she called Alex back to say "I love you." Making us all remember that you never know what tomorrow may bring so tell the ones you love that you love them.
2. When Flash joined SuperGirl to get rid of weather witch and the fan asked them to sign the picture and said make it out to Marv and spelled it MARV. Which to me was a throw off to Marvel comics. I love those little nuances.
GREAT clarification, Brier! Clears up a lot of confusion for me. Like how could the population of two Earth's fit onto one? Are they constantly going to be bumping into douplegangers, etc etc.
