Turns out it's a heavy news day for Supergirl today and we couldn't be more excited! New adventures in audiobooks, episode titles, and now five brand new photos from the season five opener titled Event Horizon! Five photos is a little low for what we are used to but if and when new photos appear, you know we'll add them here! Judging from what we can see in the photos, there is going to be a major event at a stadium! The team will rush in to assist. Now don't hold us to it, but it kind of looks like Dreamer has an updated mask. Additionally, we are curious if that isn't J'onn but instead his brother taking his place. David just happens to have a kind of evil looking smirk. Check out the photos below:
Let us know if you think we are right about the mask and J'onn in the comments below and in our forum! Keep us advertisement free and visit the support page!

As for the technology theme of this season I don’t see why it has to be partisan. Over-dependence on technology isn’t a partisan issue. Technology can be both a positive and negative thing in our lives. I’d like to hear Kara talk about how Kryptonians with their advanced technology balanced things, was there a period of time where the technology was more advanced than people’s ability to use it in a balanced way. Brainy being an AI would also have an interesting point of view on the issue.
In all seriousness, silencing opposing viewpoints is something I feel would never be endorsed by "Team Super."
Even in the most partisan moments of last season, I respected that the writers never portrayed the solution to bad ideas as silencing them, rather countering them with good ideas and demonstrating their superiority in practice.
[By the way, OT a bit...a bizarre thing happened to my cable monopoly Altice...Friday night I lost TV, but still had internet and phone. It's all through the same company. And this was very widespread across the northeast.]
Oh goody. [SPOILER REDACTED] returns...

Quoting Eire El: Astute observation as usual, unlike the other Arrowverse suits we’ve had time to grow an attachment. The suit change added to Melissa changing her hair is likely quite jarring to highly visual people. Subconsciously there may be worry that Kara’s core personality has changed too. My hope is that once the season starts and we see that Kara's still Kara just with a new suit people will adjust to the visual changes.
Well said. Good points. Just keep in mind that it is up to the viewer to decide what they wish to see. If the more traditional look is preferred, so be it. If they prefer the more modern (different iteration) take, this will eventually become the accepted norm.
No one is disputing the actors' commitments to their craft (it has been exemplary). There are practical work-arounds when dealing with inclement weather and I'll simply state that the showrunners and costume department didn't fully explore all possibilities before going for the drastic redesign. Much more could have been done with the older version, but they opted for a total overhaul rather than building or improving upon what was already working. In my modest opinion, the timing was way off (meaning: it should have been either done at the beginning of the series, at the start of Season 2 when the show moved locales, or at the very end - like the suit reveal in another DC-inspired show from the early 2000s).
Truth be told, suit changes are the only reliable constant on the Berlati-verse shows. Everything else has been wildly, yet predictably, inconsistent. Some suit changes have worked and others simply haven't. We'll just have to wait and see where this one lands on the hit-or-miss list.

There's no need to compare apples and oranges. Each suit has their merits and drawbacks. People are entitled to their opinions because they're simply that - opinions.
Nicole's outfit simply suits her and no one else. She was introduced as Dreamer in this suit (or a slight variation thereof) so that's what people will associate with the character for the time being. The same can be said for Ruby's Batwoman costume. It suits her and no one else. She was also introduced in this current iteration with these particular specifications (but not specifically in the pilot episode). It may / will change as her series wears on.
Melissa's changed Supergirl suit will either be accepted as is or it will be modified as the series moves forward. It will be up to her, the showrunners and the costume department to determine what works and what doesn't.
