Episode 314 Title Revealed

It will be the first episode back after a 9 week break coming up in February but episode 314 finally has a title. Many folks know that Laurie Metcalf has been on set and we first reported a while back that Laurie had been cast to play the part of Winn Schott's mother. So it is any coincidence that the episode's title is "Schott Through The Heart"? It would seem the writers of Supergirl's love for Jon Bon Jovi continues to permiate the Supergirl universe ... and we love it!

I'm looking forward to Laurie Metcalf playing Wins mother, especially after seeing her amazing performance in Ladybird.

Alex/Kara have been through far more than Winn/Kara, years worth, we have only seen a glimpse. Alex wanted to tell Kara, and tried...and seriously did you forget the scene in "Solitude"?
There is a far, far deeper relationship between Alex and Kara than there will ever be with Kara/Winn/James/Lena etc. Can they bring Winn more into the fold? sure, but again has he been available for that? he (Jeremy) has other projects.

Unless I'm mistaken, it's "and you're too blame"...which, frankly, is even more troubling.

Right. I’ve been misquoting that line since forever so sorry for the mix up. Question though, does Winn have an adoptive family? He mentions orphan thanksgiving in season one and has mentioned foster care but never adoption.

I do understand that Kara and Alex are almost-lifelong siblings and have a much deeper relationship, but by judging what is seen on the period of the show alone Winn really deserves a bit more friendship than right now.

It’s possible that Winn’s Dad/Toyman did everything possible to keep Mary out of Winn’s life. We don’t actually know if they were together when Toyman was arrested. Maybe there was a divorce and she was wrongly declared an unfit parent and was forced to give up her parental rights. She could have tried and failed to get him back and Winn doesn’t know it. I could see Toyman wanting Winn all to himself and doing anything he could to accomplish that. It could be that Mary is kinda like Cat was with Adam and was afraid she didn’t have the right to be in her son’s life after so much time has passed.

I think they were together....I would have to go back and look, but I'm almost positive that Winn talks about that, and talked about him in foster care...

Hmm Winn is a living legend, but I feel J'onn and Mon-El got a lot more depth. Mon-El especially, since when he is casual he is as funny as Winn, and when he is serious he is as reflective as J'onn.

But, this probably is because Winn has been massively neglected and reduced to comic relief in the past 2 seasons, where the writers decided to annihilate Kara's relationships with any platonic male characters and just spam Alex and Lena moments.

Well, lets be real here....Jonn is a father figure to EVERYONE. Winn said he loves her, but she does not love him in that way...that puts a damper on anything. And then Season 1, she pined away for James, and then realizes quickly in Season 2, she was wrong....that puts a damper on things as well. THEN.....they go behind her back with Guardian, and Winn on 2 occasions lies to her in reference to Guardian...that can put a damper on things as well. I also think this new found girl friend besides Alex is new and shiney and that always keeps our attention.
