Episode 311 Synopsis

The sysnopsis for episode 311 has been released and Supergirl will be teaming up with some unusual "friends". The show will welcome back Livewire, played by Brit Morgan, and Psi, played by Yael Grobglas to team up for a dangerous venture back to Fort Rozz. Why Supergirl needs the particular talents of those two is still unknown, but your speculation is as good as ours. For the specifics of the synopsis, read this press release below:

SUPERGIRL TEAMS UP WITH SATURN GIRL, LIVEWIRE AND PSI – As Reign (Odette Annable) continues to terrorize the city, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) teams up with Saturn Girl (guest star Amy Jackson), and the two recruit Supergirl’s former enemies, Livewire (guest star Brit Morgan) and Psi (guest star Yael Grobglas), to form a team for a mission to Fort Rozz to recover a prisoner who has information on how to defeat Reign once and for all. Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) babysits Ruby (guest star Emma Tremblay).

Alex taking on, or adopting, Ruby is the biggest, easiest foreshadow of the season, that people have been predicting since episode 2.

Regardless, I'm excited for this Supergirl/Saturn Girl/Livewire/Psi team up. Sounds cool!

Yeah basically since episode 4, I put 2 and 2 together and was immediately displeased because it is very, very likely. But then it got me thinking, Ruby would only be adopted by Alex if Sam/Reign were to die. The Legion and Supergirl would be responsible for her death. So knowing Alex, she would never keep any secrets from Ruby, like she did with Maggie, (but she figured out Supergirls identity on her own) like let’s say.....
how Kara is Supergirl. I don’t think Ruby would be very happy that her adoptive mother’s, adoptive sister aka Supergirl, killed her biological mother. I know if i was Ruby that wouldn’t sit well with me, even if my mom was evil and a world killer. So we will see how all of this plays out. Ruby does still have a father even though his current state is unknown, and he is not really mentioned nor involved. In my opinion, worst case scenario is Alex adopting Ruby, that decision will not sit well with me at all.

I think Ruby would confess to Alex that Sam has been acting weird and that would set the dominoes rolling so-to-speak towards Reign's big reveal.

I'd like to see a bit more of Badass scientist Alex/Badass Agent Alex/Badass Sister Alex though than what we have been getting so far and while moms are badass and kids are necessary for the perpetuation of our species, I am not really looking forward to that in the show.

I think the kid is fine though. Those Sam scenes needed more from Odette than the kid; Odette's likability--as someone said--is very high. And, most people were already prejudiced against her given her actions in episode 2 as well as the premonition (true or not) that Alex might adopt her. I don't think it is the actor's fault.

You know.. About Fort Rozz, didn't all the Kryptonian prisoners--except for those who went into sleep to go away with Non--escape the prison?

And... didn't Chad Lowe's character (I just keep forgetting the man's name) say that he met the Kryptonian priestess in his search for artifacts? How can he do that if the priestess is in Fort Rozz and Fort Rozz is in space (as of Season One)?

Though it'd be amusing they actually backtracked on one of the best and most important scenes of Season One. (Okay, bad amusing).

I like Livewire and Psi, so I am looking forward to the team up.

What if it is Livewire that contacts Supergirl and wants to help?

That is something I didnt think of, and yet something now that I think of it Kara herself mentioned something like that at the end of 'we can be heroes'.

She said "maybe we will have to stop her, or maybe she will come to us for help"

I can picture something like Livewire trying to hide out, but Reign's current mission of 'destroy all the evil doers' is making it hard for even someone hiding out to be able to exist...

If Livewire/Psi do turn in Kara then how would it work? I personally don’t expect Livewire to turn but maybe pretend to but Psi on the other hand... again how would that work? Is Supergirl immune to her powers or can she still use them because imagine seeing Reign in like a vision thing. I’m excited.

Yeah im assuming Psi will be recruited because they have leverage over her somehow/promise her a reduced sentence. No idea what/how Livewire would be recruited as she was free last time we saw her. Maybe she does this to clear her debt to Kara for saving her life?

Anyway yeah Psi last time we saw her didnt seem too stable, could see her trying to take advantage of the situation later on especially if she knows she's still going to jail at the end of it. I would want to see a psychic battle with Psi vs Imra maybe.

Again one of them turning on Kara and Imra is just my guess, focusing on the risk of recruiting a villain, and the fact she chose two is making me guess one of them turns.

I brought that up initially because the Legends are supposed to be picking up an 'established arrow verse character' as an additional member before the season is over. Also due to the Legends season being pushed back a bit too...(to Feb or March for the return of episodes I believe)

So far its just a guess, based on that announcement from last month about a new character joining legends.

Legends definitely needs a shakeup with its team. I can see Kid Flash going there.

With Legends coming back in february I think we should get an announcement about the new member soon. Another possibility i think for their new member is Roy Harper who is returning briefly to Arrow this season, but I guess we will see.

I have to wonder how they are going to tie in Ruby and Alex's desire to parent. I have a sinking feeling that Alex is going to assume care of Ruby by the end of the season once Supergirl and company deal with Reign.

I think it was on Twitter, but I recall seeing some sort of a cryptic tweet or comment by Chyler about the future and change or something like it. I have this terrible thought that she is leaving the show at the end of the season to be with her family more. Just a gut feeling, I do hope i'm wrong.

Assuming care of Ruby, maybe having to take her away into hiding from her deranged mother is a task for Alex by the end of the season.

Again, this is complete speculation based on my gut feeling.

Doesn't Ruby already have a regular babysitter? Also maternal aspirations aside, there is no reason for Alex to be on babysitting duty. Alex is needed in the field. Myronn and Eliza would be my choice. Both of them have experience raising kids. Myronn has the same powers J'onn has so he can protect them should the need arise, and Eliza has a safe house in Midvale they can stay in while National City is under siege.
