Crisis On Earth-X Live Action Poster

Today, the CW is releasing a new live action poster (not illustrated like previously) to help promote next week's Crisis On Earth-X two night four show crossover! In it, we are seeing some previously unseen characters that are certainly standing out! It looks like a Red Tornado-like character is playing for the Earth-X team as well as a possible Kryptonite powered robot, metallo in his only metalic form? Regardless this poster has some amazing action and is really raising the excitement for next week! Check it out below:

There is a number of 5th Dimensional creatures that might be interesting to interact with or against Supergirl:

Could Miss Gsptlsnz be jealous of how Mxysptlk professed his love last year?

Quoting Stewart Tick:
"I have been thinking she could face some magical enemies occasionally. The closest I think was silver banshee because she was 'cursed' or at least her family was."

Also Mr. Mxyzptlk, with his "fifth-dimensional magic". Kara and Clark could never overpower him, so they always had to find a way to outwit him.

" she can beat Red Tornado.."

Yes, but now it seems like Red Tornado's artificial intelligence survived the destruction of his metal body. Apparently, that was what some of us noticed flying off backwards in a spiral pattern when RT's body was vaporized by Kara's "solar flare".

"electricity - Supergirl had no problem with the lightening bolt that created Livewire"

Yes, it was only at the end of the Live Wire episode, when Kara was hit by multiple lightning bolts, one right after the other, that her strength was really sapped by them (as if she didn't have time to recover between them) And also that "superbolt" that Live Wire directed at the helicopter that immobilized Kara and caused her to fall to the ground.

"Temperature -
The only time I remember the heat effecting her was when she was startled by scorcher's arm."

Actually, I was thinking of Reactron's "hot gas (or perhaps more accurately, plasma) blasts".. (And no, I wouldn't expect having her sweater on fire to faze her at all - that's no hotter than normal burning logs or cardboard boxes.)

"Toyman's and Metallo's explosives may have only startled her, Newton's laws still apply and if she is flying, couldn't she be startled enough to loose her concentration on floating?

Yes, I agree. Max Lord's bomb was probably something closer to a MOAB ("Mother of All Bombs"), or one of the "Grand Slam" bombs that the British air force dropped on Germany in the closing days of WW II.

"Of course, the real reason is dramatic license in all the versions"

Yes, we're dealing with quite a bit of dramatic license here - not just with regard to kryptonite, but other "vulnerabilities" as well...

Killed off, in a scifi show? There is always a way back. ;-)

I don't mind Kryponite either. One question though since Chloe's "Wall of weird" was referenced in Midvale. On Earth 38 does Kryptonite radiation have the same mutation effect on humans that it did on Smallville and if so how has no one at the DEO including Alex mutated.

Quoting kdogg87:

I'm personally okay with the kryptonite, because Metallo wasn't used extremely well in his first appearance. His second, in "Luthors" was better, but he was also seemingly killed off. Which is a shame, because he's such a great villain.

The Arrowverse version of Kryptonite actually seems closer to the comic book version, where different types and levels of "purity" as well as the time of exposure seems to determine how toxic it is to Kryptonians and humans. In the comics and in the animated Justice League, Lex had kryptonite actually on his person, like in the form of a ring for months before it poisoned him. And the DEO and L Corp seem to be smart enough to store their K in lead containers.

Of course, the real reason is dramatic license in all the versions, cause they aren't going to just immediately kill off Clark or Kara as soon as some villain pull out the green rocks (at least not more than once every few decades, anyway).

Having just browsed through the Wallpaper section on this website, its interesting to note how similar the Overgirl symbol is to the Red Lantern Supergirl symbol.

Much of Supergirls reactions may only appear to be Vulnerabilities. Many of the times we have seen her Vulnerable, she was able to counter later in the episode. She may have only been caught off guard due to being startled.

electricity - Supergirl had no problem with the lightening bolt that created Livewire, she also stud in front of Cat to absorb Livewire's attack

Temperature - Flash noticing Supergirl's sweater was on fire was one of many occasions she was not phased. The only time I remember the heat effecting her was when she was startled by scorcher's arm.

Although Max Lord's explosive would have taken out a number of City blocks and we saw Supergirl KO, Toyman's and Metallo's explosives may have only startled her, Newton's laws still apply and if she is flying, couldn't she be startled enough to loose her concentration on floating?

Quoting Stewart Tick:

On this show, Supergirl is vulnerable to such "everyday hazards" as high-voltage electricity, very high temperatures, and very large amounts of high explosives. But these have to be at levels way beyond what would be fatal to a human. Remember also that even Toyman's rather small bombs knocked her out momentarily and she fell to the ground. And so did the anti-tank missile that Metallo (before he became Metallo) fired at her from a drone.

I'd like to see a villain team-up of Reactron and Metallo Vs a hero team-up of Supergirl and the Metal Men.

"Superman saved her from (I forget his name) the guy with the atomic blasters when she was just about finished."

That would be Reactron. And yes, you're right about Kara's vulnerabilities on this show. It's somewhere in between the Golden Age and Silver Age versions of Superman. It's clear that the CW were under promoting the show's current seasons until they got to the crossover.

When are we expecting sneak peeks for the crossover? I’m assuming they won’t leave it to the day of like they have been doing so far this season so nice the crossover is their biggest ratings week.

Well we have the 2:30 extended trailer and another one minute one came out today. That works for me and if you want more I’m sure we’ll get at least one more before Monday.
