If you've seen the season finale of Supergirl, then you already have a feeling that there are big changes coming for the show. We reported earlier that Jeremy Jordan's character, Winn, will be taking a reduced roll next season. This was easily accomplished through the story of him having to go to the future in Brainiac-5's place to help save future AI's. Now, TVLine.com is reporting that the show runners have concluded their time with Mon-El as well. Both Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller confirmed the news. Rovner stated:
The plan for Chris was always to have him on the show for two years. We’ve loved telling Mon-El’s story, as well as the story we’ve told for him and Kara. We hope the fans felt that it was a satisfying conclusion.
Adding to the sentimate was Jessica Queller:
They both have destinies in different times as heroes. What they did was the sort of Casablanca decision of putting what’s most important to them — which is saving the world — first. It’s a little bittersweet that one destiny is to be a hero in this time and one’s destiny is to run the Legion in another time, but I think they grew a lot from knowing one another. They have respect for one another, and they have a respect for the decisions they respectively made.
This is likely not the only shake up we'll be hearing about officially now that the season is over. Let us know your thoughts on Chris' exit in the comments below and in the forum! Yes, you are a name but only to other humans. For everything else you need a freaking number. Think about it.
It's always been my understanding that the main audience for the sci-fi action shows are men and children. lol
I am a name not a number!
Well, of course I can't speak for all "old people". But speaking as a 65-year-old card-carrying member of the American Chemical Society, I would say that I've been around the block a few times. Yes, I realize that I am in the target audience of CBS-TV, and do enjoy their crime shows. I also happen to love a colorful action adventure show with sci-fi elements. And I happen to know a number of my contemporaries who feel the same way...
Look, if you wanna live in a bubble of false hope that's on you. But all signs are pointing to him being gone for the foreseeable future. My unsolicited advice, accept that he's gone and move on, if not you're just gonna be disappointed time and time again.
