Tonight was the last episode we are going to get in February. In fact, it's the last one we are going to get in March too! Sadly, as we all know, Supergirl has conceded it's time slot to The Legends of Tomorrow for nine weeks. Supergirl will return with new episodes April 16th, 2018. But, with that sad bit of news out of the way, we can certainly take time to focus in on how incredible tonight's episode was. With Purity revealed and the DEO on the case, Supergirl has a lot on her hands capturing the other Worldkiller. Here were the events that stood out to us:
- The Capture: It was a pretty intense moment with Purity here. Only because Reign is SO dangerous, did Kara go along with the preemptive capture of Purity. It's clear that Kara is looking for a way to reach the human side of each Worldkiller and acting preemptively upsets her. On the other hand, J'onn's taste in music continues to impress us.
- Alex vs Kara: The sisters are battling and it hurts to hear. However, we think it's because of how badly Supergirl lost to Reign in episode 9. Kara says that Alex is being too cynical but we think its because she is scared that a threat has finally come along that can truly threaten Kara. She is terrified of the Worldkiller threat because they can really hurt, maybe even kill Kara and Alex won't risk it. Of course the alternative is true for Kara. She will do whatever she can, self-sacrifice and all to reach the hopeless. Alex feels she needs to step in before Kara's heart gets in the way but as we see time and time again, it's Kara's heart that saves the day.
- Hanging with the Boys: The quick moments with Winn, J'onn and Mon-El were pretty fun! Seeing J'onn pull out his battery from the Chevy was hilarious. Furthermore, when J'onn goes and gets the Martian Moonshine, Mon-El and J'onn share a real moment. We learn that Kara and Mon-El's love is a very different kind of love. Imra and Mon-El's marriage was to unite planets but Kara was illogical and primal. J'onn gave some good advice to talk to Imra about how he was feeling.
- Alex Reaches Julia: In a perfect twist of how the sisters were working before, it's Alex who is able to reach Julia and she sheds off her Purity persona. However, Reign is the ... rain on the parade! Her line of "The Supergirl knees" was especially troublesome! Reign's power is consistently more than Supergirl's which is what is making this season feel so dangerous!
- Mon-El Learns There is a Second Mission: Imra and Brainy planned the mission to the past and it would seem that Imra has a second motive for being there. We don't know what it could be, but our thinking is that they are back to stop the Worldkillers from killing Supergirl. Much like season 8 of Smallville, the legion knows Kara is more important and can do more in the future and being in the past to stop her death is essential. Of course, this is just our theory.
In the end, it was great to see the sisters share a moment at the bar. Alex comes clean about her difficulties with the break-up and Kara tells Alex that she is stronger than her for having the courage to want more out of life. Finally, Lena and Sam share a moment that turns terrifying as Reign exposes herself almost by taking control. Sam's ability to control Reign seems entirely different than Purity. So with Lena's guarantee to help fix Sam, the true nature of the Legion's mission, and Purity going through an awakening, we have some pretty BIG cliffhangers to mull through during this break. Remember Supergirl.tv will be here for you throughout the entire break where we'll be sharing news, theories and keeping the fans together through the next 70 days.

She was looking at Sam when it happened, unless she conveniently blinked. Just like she conveniently missed James bring out his shield to protect her. At what point does it start to become ridiculous? lol She's becoming the least observant person on the planet
Thank you
Yeah, I’m talking on YouTube on TheDCTVShow to other users and they’re like ‘Kara’s not moving on! WTF?! How could you say that?!’ They’re karamel shippers so they don’t see what everyone else sees. Like Mon-El is confirmed to be staying while the Legion leaves in 3x17 or 3x18 but they’ll definitely be back to help defeat the Worldkillers. In 3x13 Mon-El got knocked out so fast like damn it’s a miracle he survived the 31st century. Lol. So there’s no way Kara and Mon-El can beat the Worldkillers alone.
This is exactly what I meant about "moving backwards". I have no problem with them getting back together per se, but what was the point of all the character growth and getting over Mon El in the first half of the season, particularly in episodes like Midvale, if they're just planning a big 'do-over' of sorts with their relationship? Hopefully our assumptions are wrong though and the result will be more nuanced and complex.
AO3 is a FanFiction site like FanFiction.net.
I don't know what you mean by "AO3".
Here's a link to my "Kara In Wonderland" story, which is in screenplay format (on my personal Facebook page). As I mentioned, it's intended as an homage to Lewis Carroll. And yes, it is completed!

Monty? Whenever I see that name I think of Monty from The 100. Rest In Peace buddy. Lol.
I’m kinda annoyed. I mean she’s obviously moving on and it would just make everything she’s done this season to get over him for nothing. I honestly think Kara will say no if Mon-El asks to be with her because she’s seen how happy he is with Imra, even karamel fans can’t say they don’t look happy, and she’s moved on. So I don’t see them being back together unless they make Kara say yes which would be stupid because all she’s done this season is move on and accept that Mon-El loves Imra. I bet in 3x15 they’ll talk but I don’t think it will be full of happy karamel times. He’s training her which what? Lol. And I think since the title is “In Search of Lost Time” they’ll be catching up and she’ll learn about the marriage but won’t want Titan and Earth to be in war so she advises Mon-El to talk to Imra? Maybe. They told me to take to this to the forum. Sorry Supergirl staff. I didn’t mean to do it again.
I know. That's why I'm saying it's a bigger soap opera this season. I'm not annoyed that they are potentially being put back together. I'm annoyed that the writers chose the worst storyline imaginable.
But the CW is setting them up to get back together. If Imra not telling the real mission at the end of 3x13 is anything to go by. And him getting his suit. I loved 3x13 but it is becoming a soap opera. What are your thoughts about them getting back together. I think we should bring this to the forum.
A lot of people complained about excessive romance last season and I agreed with them. However, I personally found it entertaining. It was cute, there was humor, it was straightforward and I didn't really think of it as soap operaish. I felt that Kara and Mon-El were like a rom-com couple for the most part. It didn't really get that dramatic till Rhea arrived although the constant breakups and makeups were tiring.
This season has seen less of it but it's generally unpleasant. The characters aren't happily falling in love. Instead, it's drama about kids, moping or this really unpleasant triangle involving a marriage. This is a bigger soap opera than last season, in my opinion. And boring. So, so boring. By 2x13, I was enjoying both couples who were growing in love. By 3x13 this season, I'm not missing Maggie and most of Mon-El and Kara's conversations are stale and I wouldn't mind if he and his wife returned to the future in the next episode so that we can be done with this as soon as possible. And this is coming from someone who loved Mon-El and looked forward to his return.
