Best Scene in Supergirl So Far Winner

After a hard fought, three week battle, with your nominations, to voting through categories, to the final 20 scene battle royal, we have our top scene for Supergirl so far and its from season 4! The clear favorite was when Alex broke through the mind block that J'onn put on her to remember that Kara and Supergirl are the same person. Through that breakthrough, she was able to give Kara the dire confidence needed to try and pull the life-saving sunlight from the plants and trees around her!

A close second was the vicious and simply brutal fight scene between Supergirl and Reign! That scene still stands out to us personally as some of the best action in the show, heck even the Arrowverse. Both Reign and Supergirl are so SOOO strong that a brute battle like that held such raw energy. It was incredibly well done, great acting, great fight mechanics, and it leaves us feeling sick to our stomachs with the outcome.

The third scene which is trailed by only two votes, was a blast back from season 1. Alex confesses to Kara that she killed her aunt in order to save J'onn. Chyler's ability to show how emotional Alex felt in that moment was outstanding! Alex literally fears she'll lose her sister for this action. Then Kara forgives her but David and Melissa's hand hold seals this scene in our hearts. Sometimes family is the people you choose and as the audience, we witness those three choosing each other as family.

The fourth scene sends us back to season two. This now rounds out that each season has a favorite scene in the top four. The alien ship is taking off from Earth and Alex is on board along with many other aliens. If the ship can get high enough it can activate it's warp drive and it won't be able to be caught. Supergirl has to use brute force to over-power the ship and force it back to Earth. The only way Kara is able to summon the strength needed is with the helping guiding hand of Alex. The two share a moment touching hands through the glass of the ship and Supergirl literally tears the ship from the sky.

Finally, we have the scene from season 1, where Kara comes to after having been poisoned by Red Kryptonite. Its a fitting scene to finish with because it is directly related to our top episode so far, "Falling". Some of you have said this was one of those scenes where we have to wonder if we really deserve Melissa Benoist. She could be way over qualified for a super hero role. That said, Melissa makes Supergirl the best show of the Arrowverse because of her ability. She is INCREDIBLE! As the audience, we are pulled into the absolute pain Kara feels when she remembers all the horrible things she did under Red Kryptonite. Its one thing to see, but audiences across the globe felt Kara's pain on that medical table.

Honorable mention, Eric's favorite scene, was a close sixth place. Supergirl destroys Red Tornado. That was the moment when I feel the show really found it's footing.

Any way, thank you all for sticking it out with us during the break! This has been a lot of fun! As you guys might know, Kelsey and I are going to San Diego Comic Con in a little over a week. We'll bring you as much news as we possibly can while there! Keep checking the sites, our social media, and Facebook and we'll try and go live as much as we can!

"I feel the need to give the First 5 episodes some love. For me it found it's footing in Episode 1 starting with Melissa's amazing performance and continuing with some excellent heroic scenes"

Yes, for me, the best scene is still the first one that made an impression on me: Kara saving Alex's plane in the Pilot episode. That's when I knew the show was going to be great, and faithful to the original character of Supergirl from the pages of the Action Comics that I grew up with. You know, all those clichés: "You always remember the first time", "The first time is always the best...", etc.
Anyway, I had no idea then what the show was going to be. I was halfway expecting a clichéd, "kiddie"-oriented superhero show starring a Maxim magazine cover-girl model who really couldn't act worth beans! ( I had never watched "Glee", and had no idea who Melissa Benoist was...)
But as soon as I saw Kara save Alex's plane - giving it her all - and then stepping out onto the wing with that "look of joy" on her face, I knew that my initial fears were totally unfounded!

Hmmmm....... still not understanding how a scene where the main character is flat out on the ground wins, but hey......can't win them all, and fun getting to this point even if it makes me scratch ma head. ;-)

Not sure that we can actually state that it was the top scene overall, but rather that it was included within more voter's top 5 scenes. ;-) . We would need a single vote per person to get an accurate measure of the top scene overall. But, nevertheless, it was a fun process to see what everyone that participated enjoyed. There definitely seemed to be a theme to me in the type of scenes that stood out to most.

I don't believe I put Kara's death and Alex remembering her as one of my top 5. And I'm one who absolutely thrives on Danvers sisters scenes and angst. But, I think they completely dropped the ball on the mind-wipe story, eliminating any of the story build-up regarding it and then tacked on this one-shot "fix" at the end. That, along with the whole grass dialogue really took out of any investment and made it a dud for me in spite of Chyler's great acting.

On the other hand, the build-up to Alex's confession in Season 1, then carrying that into Kara's turn during the Red K episode, ending with her apology just set a solid tone with that sequence and really made a huge emotional impact on me as a result. Those have been the only times watching this show that I've actually gotten a little teary-eyed. So, kudos to the writing team on that successful writing bit.

The Reign fight was spectacular as a fight sequence and had they gone further with it and actually shown the fall-out as a result of it with Kara, Alex and J'onn, I think it would be in one of my top 3-4 scenes.

Thanks guys for putting this together. I know it had to have been a time consuming process and we appreciate your efforts and commitment to all of us fans.

Wait so did Supergirl or Melissa Benoist make Teen Choice? If so where can I vote for them?
Short answer both the show and Melissa are nominated for different categories. Voting has ended for those categories. Let’s take any more Teen Choice Awards questions to the forum .

Well, this wasn't my top choice but what else is new. My congrats to the winner and to all that chose this scene as the best in the 4 seasons of the show. It is a little strange that the best scene is from the worst season. I guess it's like having your favorite song from a very bad album. I think it would be a good idea for everyone to be sober before voting. hahahaha

Wasn't my favorite either, but vive la différence!

I think Chyler has an unfair advantage -- those big, dark, expressive eyes. She starts to tear up, and I'm done. LOL

Just a note - I'm going to be looking at the teen choice award website tomorrow to see if Melissa and the show made it to the final round. Some of you may want to look too. Voting opens back up tomorrow.

The problem Jacksc is that it appears non-US folks can't vote. :(

I'm outside the U.S.A. and couldn't vote. I had to ask Brierrose to put in a vote or 10 on my behalf which she was kind enough to do.
It’s true the Teen Choice Awards limits voting to the U.S.A., obviously our Admin has no control over that. The second wave of voting is for additional categories not further narrowing down the first ones. There’s only one round of voting per category. Looking at the second wave categories from last year the only one I can see the show being nominated for is Nicole for breakout TV star. All winners will be announced August 11th.

Thanks Brierrose for the further clarification on the Teen Choice awards - much appreciated.

I'm really surprised to see what was chosen for the favorite scene. Obviously there are a huge variety of viewers and preferences out there, and commenting on the preferences of others is a foolish enterprise - we like what we like. Still, that particular scene, and the lead-up to it, was quite literally groan-inducing for me. The fight with Red Daughter, a scene the entire season had been building toward, was executed very poorly. The sound, the choreography, the lighting, the duration, the drama, the comprehensibility, they were all lacking. And Alex's memory return, though Chyler acted the hell out of the scene, was so convenient and contrived and telegraphed by poor writing that it lacked impact. And finally, and most damning, the rank silliness of sucking the sunlight out of grass to restore Supergirl made me throw my hands up and groan at the screen. It's not the first time a season ending arc was handled poorly on the show, but that scene was terribly disappointing to me. Seeing it chosen as the favorite scene of the entire series is a bewildering experience.
