Batwoman Show in Development

Earlier in May, it was announced that Batwoman would be making her TV and Arrowverse debut in the annual crossover event this year. Plans for the caped-crusader don't end there though, Greg Berlanti's crew is looking to add her to the infamous DC TV line up at The CW with her own show according to EW.com! Fans of the comics will note that Kate Kane is an out lesbian who is romantically linked to Maggie Sawyer! Could this mean a return for Floriana Lima's Detective? It could all depend on which Earth the story takes place!

By the way, we are getting in the game too! Currently under development: https://batwoman.tv!

Jewel Staite? maybe? would love if she could be Maggie's Ex, that would be an interesting way to keep Maggie tied in without having to be fully returned etc. Some good Alex / Batgirl drama that would be entertaining and easy to write while keeping Alex involved in the main storyline and show off her own "suit" and Gadget Belt etc. You could have Batwoman be friends with Kara and a Jealous left-out Alex (for just a little while, let's not be cruel..)

When casting director David Rappaport for the CW DC Berlanti crossover event is looking for someone to cast as #Batwoman/KathyKane, I think the role should go to actress #HollandRoden who was in the MTV series #TeenWolf. I think she would be a good choice for the role and in her own series would be a big spark for fans and would be a huge push for her as an actress for her own series

If to our greatest regret it happens on Earth 1. I'm afraid this reduced cast also means that Alex now director can not join the adventure.

No, I hope they don't use that as an excuse. She can leave Brainy in charge, he's got experience from being in the Legion. Or just have the crossover take place on Eart 38. Just as they usually only bring one or 2 characters from SG for 2 crossovers they can bring only a core 2 from Flash and Arrow.

I thought until now that it was impossible for BatWoman to be part of Earth 38. Now I just read that the Legends will not be part of the story, although it makes me sad, I would have loved to see Sara and Alex work together again (just these two, I'm not very fan of the other team members). It also gives me a tiny hope that the reason might be that they can not afford to go to another Earth.

I hope it goes to series order and pairs up with Supergirl.

This may replace Arrow as well as you can't have two nonpowered vigilante shows.

same here, I would like it paired with Supergirl (if it happens).
That way we'd have Flash and Arrow, and then Supergirl and Batwoman which can crossover with each other.

Isn't Maggie working for the wrong police force to be dating Batwoman? Unless they base Batwoman in capital City or have Maggie move to a different one. Was never a fan of her character anyhow. Didn't add much to the show IMO.

I hope they dump Legends from the Crossover. Too many characters. I like the Flash and Supergirl and Batwoman, maybe Arrow, for one.

If this is set on Earth 1, my anger will be profound

So Legends of Tomorrow is out for this one and it's a good thing because they have their own problems with the supernatural forces as they have Constantine with them.

I think Batwoman will get the rub from the DCU TV trinity of Flash, Green Arrow, and Supergirl.

I don't believe who is and isn't involved with the crossover until it's in production and we get some confirmation.

Even so, I'd totally be okay with the Legends being left out. The more characters involved, the harder it is do produce these crossovers. And Crisis on Earth X is about as big as they can get without sacrificing quality. I would personally prefer a few smaller crossovers throughout the season. One with Arrow on Flash, one with Supergirl on Legends, one with Arrow on Supergirl. Stuff like that. Mix it up, maybe give us some character combos we haven't seen, yet.

Oh wow thats awesome!

Also what are the chances Floriana will be in this as Maggie Sawyer? She's a pretty big love interest for Batwoman. Otherwise I see them going with Renee Montoya as main love interest.

I think that's entirely up in the air, at this point, as Floriana has committed to another show. It's still a sore spot with me, when people say they won't watch the show until they "Bring Maggie Back", forgetting that it was Floriana's choice to leave. At least from everything I read.
