Battles Lost and Won Synopsis

This is it! Supergirl's season three finale now has a synopsis! Much like the content we've been getting recently, it is pretty sparse but that is by design. It keeps the exciting nature and revelations of the finale in a shroud of secrecy. However it does give us some knowledge. The Team is going to have to battle Serena for the fate of Earth! Looks like Sam's Reign is superseded by Serena! Was she pulling the strings all along? Check out the synopsis below:

SHOCKING SEASON FINALE – Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and team take on Serena in an epic battle for Earth. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Robert Rovner & Jessica Queller

A synopsis that actually tells us nothing......nice.

Simple, to the point. Heard a rumor that...MULTIPLE ENDINGS were filmed. Hmmm

Could those endings not seen on TV be deleted scenes on the DVD?

I love a synopsis that doesn’t give any real information. At this point the only thing I’m sure of is Kara’s going to decide Earth is her home. Anything else I’m not sure about.

I Selena is the big fight, I do wonder what Sam/Reign and Ruby will be doing this episode. Will Sam just be knocked out cold?

I think having a lot of people join in the big fight emphsizes how big and scary the villain is. I liked that about the season 2 finale. Even Superman joined in and couldn't help. I do think it's dumb that Imra gets to fight too, since imo she was a really bla part of the season and hasn't been around for a while. I'm definitely least interested in seeing her fight. IMO she does a poor job too of living up to the character from the comics and various other tv shows. Very sad, a missed opportunity. Kara getting to interact with a bigshot female leader in the Legion of Superheroes could have been interesting, but Imra played out as a very uninteresting character to watch. Not really doing justice to how fun and colorful the Legion is in the comics.

Maybe I'm reaching a bit here, but is it possible that this is a Macbeth reference?

ACT I SCENE I A desert place.
[Thunder and lightning. Enter three Witches]
First Witch When shall we three meet again
In thunder, lightning, or in rain?
Second Witch When the hurlyburly's done,
When the battle's lost and won.

It's established on the show that the world killers are created using "dark magic" and the world killers themselves use "dark magic" (magic eclipse), which would make Selena and the three world killers witches.

Maybe Selena absorbes the powers of the three world killers? Or maybe she turns herself into a world killer? (maybe that's why she voted for Kara to get the space rock that creates and destroys world killers, so she can grab some for herself as well), or maybe both so she would have the powers of four world killers?

When I read 'Battles Lost and Won' my first thought was "when the hurlyburly's done"

Though, aside from the presence of witches I don't really see many similarities, so maybe not.

Cant J'onn ever be happy. Sheesh. Why did the writers have to do that him by making his father have alzheimers.

On the other hand this episode is going to be so cool though.

Why does Supergirl need so many people to help her defeat the villain?. I've seen the on set finale photos and Supergirl is there with like 5 others. That's nearly as many as Legends of Tomorrow have which is a team-up show. At some point in the episode I'd be OK with it just being Supergirl vs Selena with Supergirl getting victory of course and that can be the Battles Won part of the title.

Kiwi, I hear ya. I too wish that only SuperGirl or SuperGirl and her mother were saving the earth but it seems the writers are not going in that direction with this battle. Unless what I'm thinking is that Selena can control the minds of people enough to give her a little army made up of deviant civilians. So I'm hoping that Alex and the team are fighting them while Selena is being dealt with by SuperGirl and Alura.

One thing seems clear to me. Selena somehow will absorb the powers of Reign into her like how Reign absorbed Purity /Pestilence. Leaving Sam free, but Selena probably wildly overpowered. She probably has some kryptonian followers on her side too. Even superman has trouble with more then one kryptonian at a time.

Noting that the League (at least on Earth 38) was heavily influenced by Supergirl not Superman, if they go this direction with M'onel's costume, I would prefare if the S Sheild was based off Supergirl's version of the S rather than Superman's version. For example note the differences in the Serifs at each end.

They should do this on the show. Any insight on this ?
