Dream Weaver Trailer

As we sit here sipping soda out of our Fortress of Solitude inspired glass and munch on some wonderfully delicious Supergirl cookies, we couldn't help but feel like we were in Kara's apartment on game night! Fans know that we are going to have to say good bye to The Girl of Steel this season but, the Arrowverse as a way of keeping the story going! Fellow Arrowverse fans may have heard about the five part Flash opener for season eight. They will welcome guest stars from around the Arrowverse and our very own Sentinel, Alex Danvers, will be fighting along side team Flash to save the world! The five part mini-series welcomes back several charaters and is described as:

A powerful alien threat arrives on Earth under mysterious circumstances and Barry (Grant Gustin), Iris (Candice Patton) and the rest of Team Flash are pushed to their limits in a desperate battle to save the world. But with time running out, and the fate of humanity at stake, Flash and his companions will also need to enlist the help of some old friends if the forces of good are to prevail.

Also helping save the world yet again will be Javicia Leslie as Batwoman, Brandon Routh as The Atom, Cress Williams as Black Lightning, Kat McNamara as Mia Queen and Osric Chau as Ryan Choi. In addition, Tom Cavanagh and Neal McDonough return as the adversaries we love to hate – Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash and Damien Darhk. Executive producer for "The Flash" Eric Wallace had this to say about the can't miss television event:

Simply put, these are going to be some of the most emotional FLASH episodes ever. Plus, there are some truly epic moments and huge surprises that await our fans. And we’re doing them on a scale that's bigger and bolder than our traditional FLASH episodes. So yes, ARMAGEDDON is a lot more than just another graphic novel storyline. It’s going to be a true event for FLASH and ARROWVERSE fans, old and new. Honestly, I can’t wait for audiences to see what we’ve got planned.

Armageddon was a comics storyline that ran 30 years ago in 1991. The villain was called Monarch. I wonder if he will be the villain for the crossover.
They just announced today that the villain is going to be Despero played by Tony Curran .He's a major Justice League baddie in the comics.

Vantheman77 that is a great idea about Alex being on S&L to help the sibling without powers. Alex with her fighting abilities and strategic abilities could definitely teach him a way in which he too can be powerful without the Kryptonian powers. Plus with your idea it would keep Alex's character going.
Would love to see Alex on Superman & Lois and could so see her bonding with Jon.

I wonder why they didn't have Martian Manhunter on the team
Considering the villain in this event was just announced to be Despero,a very powerful telepath.They could certainly use J'onn and either or both Kara & Clark.

They are the three heroes best equipped to help deal with him.

I'm happy for Alex getting this part for the upcoming crossover event. It must take a enormous amount of courage to perform in this 4 part series. I guess it's something to keep you busy until a more sophisticated role comes along. She is a very gifted actress as we all know. I'll be surprised if she carries this Sentinel thing past the crossover. She should be hounding her agent every day for decent roles.

Nice that Alex will be used after Supergirl. I hope she appears in Superman and Lois to help Jonathan in being the sibling without powers.

I wonder if Ryan Choi will become the Atom since he and Ray Palmer are both in this.

I really wanted Legends to be summoned to 2040 by Laurel to conclude the cliffhanger we were left with after Green Arrow and the Canaries didn't go forward to series.
From my understanding,the season 7 Legends storyline is them trapped in the past which may be why Sara or other Legends won't be in this.Ray is sort of standing in for a Legend.He's a Legend but since he's not on the team anymore,he isn't trapped in the past.

Since Mia is in this,they may conclude that cliffhanger here.

That would be good, if it was resolved. It's a shame they didn't resolve it this season with Legends, as Sarah is Laurel's [not] sister.

It would be cool if Kara left an encoded crystal message for Barry that Alex/Sentinel can deliver to him during her crossover appearance. Barry and Kara had such great onscreen chemistry.

That's actually a really cool idea and something that could of been very easily shot on the Supergirl set with Melissa before they wrapped.I would be all for something like this.

Other than Superman & Lois(and Stargirl which is set on Earth 2),all the other Arrowverse shows are represented in ARMAGEDDON .

Arrow=Mia/new Green Arrow
Supergirl=Alex/Sentinel
Legends=Ray/The Atom
Black Lightning=Jefferson/Black Lightning
Batwoman=Ryan/Batwoman

Since Mia is in this,they may conclude that cliffhanger here.

I wonder if Ray Palmer will pass the Atom suit off to Ryan Choi in the special? I was disappointed Ryan never made it to Black Lightning to team up with his sister, Grace Choi.
A lot of people are speculating on that happening.

Other thoughts:
No Sara Lance

I’ll resist the devil on my shoulder telling me to gloat about no Superman involvement. All I’ll say is I couldn’t be happier.

Honestly I keep waiting to hear Flash is ending, IMO it’s reached the end of its useful life.

Some replies (and possible spoilers) to these points:

1. Despite some fan circles that were expecting Sara to show up for this, I was always the holdout who said it wouldn't happen; as next season's overall Legends arc supposedly has the Waverider crew parked in one locale for the duration (which is part of why a flesh and blood Gideon has been cast).

2. Wasn't expecting Superman, since Superman and Lois doesn't resume filming until mid-to-late September (depending on Vancouver's ability to contain the Delta variant). The possibility of Melissa returning as SG was always remote, which was confirmed by paparazzi catching her recently at LA's Day Of Indulgence daytime soiree, sporting her more natural hair color in a new style.

3. Seems to me that the main reason for The Flash's continued existence is so that WB Films has somewhere obvious to promote next year's Flash DCEU flick.

Excellent news for Chyler! Let's hope it leads to more appearances for her either as a spin-off / recrurring role or as part of a team on another Arrowverse show.

Chyler's character deserves the chance to shine and I hope this crossover allows her the opportunity to continue on in a new iteration and new direction. Melissa has shone so brightly for six seasons, now it's Chyler's time to have some of the deserved limelight. :-)

I don’t really care much about this event but the news that Alex/Sentinel will appear is a relief to me. I had a terrible thought after last night’s episode that all of Alex’s talk of always being there for Kara and Kara not wanting to be alone was foreshadowing Alex’s death.

It's a very strange race between The Flash and Legends, to see which ends first. I suspect Grant's new child will have particular influence on how long he wants to continue.

The story about the various "Forces" had potential, this year. And was relatively okay. But holy moly, did they screw the pooch on the Godspeed arc. 3 seasons of build-up regarding the character, too...

I said it before, the Golden Age of the Arrowverse ended with Crisis, albeit unintentionally. I feel like any crossovers we get from here on out are a pale attempt to recapture that glory. But it's somewhat of a lost cause, because what made them awesome was the chemistry between Barry and Oliver, and later, Kara.

I'll keep paying attention to see where they go from here. But right now, my sole reasons for paying attention to this crossover are Mia and Ray.
