Of course there were arcs that work very well. I'm not saying no additional character arcs, that would be very boring. I loved the Myrnn stuff for example.
But this show has way too many. And that leads to many of them left unfinished or hurriedly concluded. More so, the sheer number forces each one to be short and shallow. If we reduce the number, we get more depth out of the ones we have.
I'd have to agree, Fedguy. Season 2 and parts of season 3 were full of characters not really related to Kara; and thus, many of the episodes seemed too disjointed and/or didn't focus on the main character... Supergirl.
If it turns out to be Raymond Maxwell Jensen, could they be planning another Parasite?
Disagree. Series usually finds the right thematic balance between two or more sets of characters going through similar emotional situations. A good example from last season is "Far From The Tree", wherein J'onn's father fearfully doesn't recognize his own son after years of isolated torture. The parallel situation on Earth, Maggie's fearful father conveniently makes up fearful excuses for his own behavior, instead of recognizing that his daughter has grown into her own woman, free of his browbeating influence.
It does seem that Agent Jensen could be put into a parallel relationship with Alex similar to that of Nia/Kara.....but it's too early to tell at this point. However, with fewer familiar personnel at the DEO for new Director Alex to rely on, seems more organic to next season's overall story arc for her to acquire more backup, particularly if there are defections in the ranks to the Children of Liberty.
Yes, there are many new faces coming in Season 4. I guess it takes many to replace the beloved Monty and Wynn. I think I'm more curious then excited for season 4.
