Alex Trailer Episode 219

We are certainly not Harry Houdini and while Alex may fare better than we would, we can pretty much assume that she isn't a magician either! This trailer looks dark and intense! We have a feeling we are going to be on the edge of our seats the entire hour! Alex gets put into some kind of horrible water chamber and it's up to Maggie and Kara to find her before it's too late. If you are looking to see some glass shatter, then you are in luck because you know Supergirl is going to demolish that cage! Check out the trailer for next week's new Supergirl below:

looking forward to hopefully a danver sisters episode with Maggie also, I kept thinking the voice demanding his fathers release sounded like Maxwell Lord (he knows Alex & Supergirl are sisters) but I also know that in the show they said his parents where dead. I actually don't mind any of the new characters Mon El has grown on me & Lena, Maggie & Mama Luthor are great additions but in my opinion best episodes are still the ones centred on Kara/Supergirl & Alex - Exodus was great example

When I "SAW" this trailer I thought it looked great.

But yeah some people on other sites are getting down on it because it looks and sounds too much like that. However IMO 1) Who cares? That movie made a Sh@t ton of money because people liked that, and 2) Superhero comics and shows often had peril traps of some kind, so its not out of spec. I'd be fine with more actually.

I've missed my Danvers sisters this season!! Last episode feels a lot more like the show from s1 that I miss so much, and so did Exodus. I'm really hoping this one follows in that vein.

This trailer reminds me of the Lois and Clark season 2 finally. Clark is forced to commit a crime because the villain has kidnaped Johnathan and Martha Kent.

Yes! I've been quite surprised at the lack of focus on the Alex/Supergirl relationship this season. I expected that this season would have a heavy focus on Cadmus and the Danvers. Instead the plots are oddly all over the place and there are too many subplots as well as too much time spent on characters that I don't care about. The sister relationship made the show very unique--it was (and still is) the emotional heart of the show in my opinion.

I am also missing the Alex/Supergirl interactions, discussions, etc. It did make the show unique and IMO will always be the foundation of the show. It's what I liked the most about season 1 and it is the most that I miss about season 2.

So my hope and my wish is that this episode will be a great one - that we will see long dialogue between Alex and SuperGirl

The sister relationship made the show very unique--it was (and still is) the emotional heart of the show in my opinion. I can't help but feel that the writers hear the "more vocal" fans and are trying to please them (ex. give Kara a best friend outside of Alex, explore Alex's sexuality, give James something to do, etc.). Anyway, all those things are fine, but by trying to focus on everything and please everyone is just not effective. I just wish the focus would get back to the characters I grew to love in Season 1.

All that to say, that I still enjoy the show and this episode looks to be fantastic!

This has all the makings of being a fantastic episode - or should I say it has the POTENTIAL for being a good episode. However, if the writers continue to keep putting subplots in the midst of the main plot of the episode - then the potential is gone. Lyra has now become the most recent to join a list of (IMO) too many characters fighting crime. The writers do not focus on the main plot because for some reason they seem to feel there needs to be more than one plot in an episode to make it interesting. The viewer cannot focus on the main plot because some out of place little subplot comes in and eats up the time (it is just a 1 hour episode). So my hope and my wish is that this episode will be a great one - that we will see long dialogue between Alex and SuperGirl when she is rescued and that the episode will remain focused on SuperGirl/Maggie/Alex/DEO (J'onn) - but after seeing other episodes this season, it is hard to say anymore.

Looks like it'll be a doozy of an episode. Let's hope it lives up to the billing. Either way, I'm in for a good thrill ride. ;-)

It looks like I'll be adding someone to the list I've been keeping of who knows that Kara Danvers is Supergirl.
