TCA 2016 Event Drops Big News

Members of the press were invited into CBS' Supergirl stage today to enjoy a tour of the sets and sit down with executive producers and the primary cast. While the biggest news item, a second season, wasn't announced, plenty of other awesome news items came to the surface! Beyond the two new casting announcements we already shared (Jeff Branson as the Master Jailer in episode 14, and Laura Vandervoort as Indigo in episode 15) here's what we learned (SPOILERS AHEAD but really this is considered mainstream news at this point):

  1. Episode 13 is titled "For the Girl Who Has Everything" and is based off of Alan Moore's Superman comic, "For the Man Who Has Everything". Kara awakes on Krypton and has no idea why she's there. Sources below:

  2. We can expect to see how J'onn J'onzz became Hank Henshaw which means more flashbacks and almost certainly more Dean Cain! Source below:

  3. Melissa Benoist said, "I feel an incredible amount of pride for what we're doing". She also said that seeing how the children react to Supergirl is what made her realize the impact of the character. Sources below:

  4. Finally we have an idea on how a young Kal-El will appear on the show. (Remember those rumors?) TVLine.com reported that Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg said:
There was something about [For The Man Who Has Everything] story that to me was even more resonant for [Kara], because for Superman it was a wish for something he never had. But for her, she wants something back that was taken from her. (hence the casting of a Young Kal-El.)

Tons of new info on Supergirl today! We can barely stand it! Finally we gathered up some photos from the set visit that should give you a nice view behind the scenes:
