Well, well, well. Here we are again. This article is a very VERY special news article for Supergirl.tv. It's a milestone of many different proportions. First and foremost, we are back from San Diego Comic Con and we brought interviews with the cast and new show-runners with us! We had an incredible time at the convention! We'll do a write up on that soon. Beyond the fact that we get to share with you our interviews from the convention, this news article has another huge milestone with it. This is the one-thousandth news article Supergirl.tv has written about the show! Can you believe that? 999 other times we've written to you all about news on the show and here, just coming back from Comic Con with interviews in tow, we get to share this milestone! It kind of worked out perfectly!
As for the interviews, well there isn't much to be said that the actors and executive producers don't say for themselves. We will note that both David Harewood and Katie McGrath remembered us when they sat down for our interviews. David even noted our admin Eric by name! So without further ado, here are our interviews from Comic Con 2017:
(We aren't loading all the videos on the page so that we don't crash your phones. Each name below is a link to the video. This is the order we interviewed them in.)
- Chris Wood
- Mehcad Brooks
- David Harewood
- Melissa Benoist
- Jeremy Jordan
- Jessica Queller & Robert Rovner
- Katie McGrath
Let us know what you thought of the interviews and heck, if you've been around for a while, let us know that too! We've been here for 1,000 news articles and we are looking forward to the next 1,000! Man I am so jealous you got to meet our Irish Queen
I am actually excited to say I met Katie at a private invite only party at SDCC. She was incredibly nice to me. My entire goal was to simply introduce myself to her, and she was so sweet! You can see in our interview with her that she recognizes us twice and is so sweet to our staff. I can echo that sentiment for all the cast, they were outstanding!
Yes! :) I'd like them to interact too. Although, I didn't hear that in Katie's interview here. May be, I didn't listen properly.
It looks like there will be some fights between Kara and Alex this season. (That is what I took from the boneheaded and stubborn, comment). I hope they really do have some couch scenes.
And I am glad Katie said (in different interviews) that she wants to interact with the rest of the cast (in the show I mean). And kind of her to stay back to answer the question.
I don't mind Kara going dark as long as she finds a balance. It'd be an opportunity for Melissa to use her range.
Jeremy and Mehcad were fine; not much new info there. Hopefully, we will get deleted scenes in DVD/Blu-ray.
I find it interesting that Chris said he would have liked to develop Mon El's journey from wherever he was (misogynist/ignorant?) to hero a bit more fully; or to not have that at all. Because I felt that too. That a lot of issues could have been avoided if they had either allotted more time to it or if they had just used a racism/prejudice thing instead of the slave owner misogyny thing. I think the show runners managed to step on a lot of toes by their handling of it (mainly in broad strokes without attention to details).
I worry that they have a lot of stuff going on in parallel this time around too; instead of focusing on one or two aspects.
I wish them well!
Congrats and thank you :)
