It seems like the TV Upfronts were more than a year ago but alas, thats just how much news has come from then til now. IGN managed to catch up with the cast at the upfronts and asked some great questions. You can see the full article here, but here's some great excerpts:
IGN: For Kara, what is it about her that made her hold back until now? Obviously she saw what her cousin was doing. Why didn’t she leap into that too?
Benoist: There are numerous reasons that you’ll discover throughout the show. Also I think part of her thinks Earth already had a hero. It’s been 24 years and she comes to Earth and Superman, who was a baby then, is now grown and is Earth’s hero and she kind of feels like she won’t live up to what he has created for himself.
