Several sources are reporting that, Gemma Atkinson, star of Hollyoaks, an English soap opera, has auditioned for the a role in CBS's Supergirl. Most likely the role is for Supergirl herself. The Sun reports:
Gemma is a huge fan of comic books so this is something she’d jump at. It will make her huge Stateside
Gemma is also rumored to have a role in an upcoming British project "Emmerdale". Clearly the commitment required to do either show won't allow her to do both, so chances are if she is offered the role of Kara, she will turn down the Emmerdale project.
She said next year will be her best yet whatever happens. If she gets Supergirl it will be amazing or if she begins working on Emmerdale that will be great too.
