I thought this would be a good time to repost my "National City New Year's Eve" story!
People have told me that this one reminded them of some of the episodes of the original "Star Trek" TV show, in which the action sequences that were seen on-screen were actually secondary to the character interactions and development in the story. That wasn't what I originally intended, but I do find that I agree with that assessment.
