Fans were treated to a special look at this year's crossover event! While we were all watching the episode, suddenly in the middle of it during a commercial break, we saw something that can only be described as shocking! Elseworlds will explore several "what if" scenarios. The one we saw tonight was Alex holding Kara in a cell! The cell looked like it was at Star Labs, the ones Barry and team use to lock up dangerous meta-humans. With Elseworlds exploring several alternate realities, and Supergirl exploring Red Son in their own way as well, it is a point of interest that in the comics, Flashpoint actually had the government holding Superman in a lab. This is very familiar to the scene we saw. To refresh yourself, check it out below:

I hope this alternate Alex isn't too evil. I was thinking of the Star Trek rerun where Captain Kirk,McCoy, Scotty & Uhura land in an alternate universe where the Federation is evil. Spock was a dark character with a Satanic beard but he wasn't wholly corrupted and still had some Vulcan logical good in him. I'd rather alternate Alex be like that.
Okay confession time. I was not planning on watching the Crossover as it never really interested me but, now they have my attention. So, kuddos to you SG Crossover Promo people. You've succeeded in getting another viewer.
Quote: Wow. Now that you've shown me that, I can't unsee it. She is Katniss. What am I saying? OF COURSE, Alex is Katniss.
I haven't kept up on all of the promo for this but, surely, besides Kara, Barry, Arrow guy and Superman, all the other characters are from a different world. How else would Alex have long hair? So, last Crossover, there was an evil Kara and Alex was trying to rescue our Kara. Now, Alex is the evil one and Kara is trying to avoid being killed by her.
Hope Alex returns to her normal self sooner than later and has an active role in Elseworlds!

This might be a case of "borrowing" a plot point from the Injustice 2 video game, where Kal and Kara are in a similar, adversarial position in that alternate reality.
