Also, I didn't know the Supergirl writers knew old school wrestling. To stop that alien's eye laser, Kara did a variation of the Iron Claw...made famous by the Von Erich wrestling family, way back in the day.
Here, check out this panel from Action Comics 287:

And "Hey that's me". LOL
That is one very tough alien.
This video reminds me the kind of Kara in the pilot episode.
Maggie meeting the ex for dinner...AWKWARD.
And as for number 1...if you love Kara's food freaks outs like I do...this is a pleaser. And yes boys, NOBODY BETTER GET BETWEEN KARA AND HER BACON. The writers must've seen that Beggin Strips commercial a few too many times for that freak out, which is just as fun as the ice cream one. You know there was a silly novelty song in 1976 called Junk Food Junkie. (good Lord have pity on me!) That would serve as one of Kara's theme songs!
And that breakfast, Mon-El, proves guys can cook. I mean some of the world's greatest chefs are men...Jacques Pepin, Guy Fieri, Mario Battali, Todd English. Given Kara's metabolism that's just enough, including the oatmeal.
For Kevin Smith, this looks like another high energy fest.
