As you all know, Supergirl.tv is committed to covering all news and rumors no matter how big or small. That said, we want to share with you an article sent to us that might give insight into who will play Supergirl on CBS. While no official announcement has been made, we do want to share some interesting information. Bitbag.com is reporting on the DC "Convergence" event and briefly mentioned Supergirl on CBS. What really intrigued us was this passage:
This Supergirl, as per People, is being portrayed by a virtual unknown. However, what’s known is that CBS is willing to put their entire series on the line and bet on this girl, who they think is going to be super—pardon the pun.
There had been Supergirls in the past. Each one was as different from the other, although it would be interesting to see what this unknown brings to the table. Laura Vandervoort was Smallville’s Supergirl, while Helen Slater will always be known as Supergirl to those who saw the 1984 film, as per People. Let’s see if CBS’ trust in this actress is not misplaced.
We've heard from Greg Berlanti in his interview at The Television Critics Associations Winter Event, that casting a relative unknown was possible. We, however, didn't take it as Gospel. So we don't know if Bitbag is making a leap of faith with what was said at the TCA's or if they have a source that is letting us know that a relative unknown is going to take the role.
Long story short, we have faith David Rapaport Casting who has cast Arrow and The Flash and whether Bitbag is right that we can expect a relative unknown or a big time star, we are EXCITED for Supergirl the land on the Silver Screen! What do you think of a possible unknown playing Kara?
