Batwoman.tv Launches

Running Supergirl.tv has been an incredible joy, success, challenge and accomplishment for us. For some time now, we've been thinking about expanding and bringing more content to you via new sites. The lessons we've learned here and the community that has developed has only strengthened our resolve to bring professional level websites to fans and guide civil and meaningful conversation about shows and characters that mean so much to us. Due in large part to our users and community, we are now branching out and adding three new sites to our community. Today Batwoman.tv is launching! Supergirl.tv fans should hopefully find it familiar yet fresh. Eric has learned many new techniques from running Supergirl and Batwoman has some of the coolest things we've done built into it (come visit to see)!

In addition to Batwoman.tv, which is VERY on topic for us, we are venturing out into two new territories as well. The first is less of a stretch. While at Comic Con we learned about Geoff Johns' new show Stargirl. Much like our love for the Girl of Steel, Courtney Whitmore has had a special place in our hearts for a while. Stargirl.tv is currently under development and even though not part of the Arrowverse, the show is being created by Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter along with Geoff Johns! Debuting on DC Universe's streaming platform, this show has us very excited!

Finally, we have something completely different. We have had a soft launch for TheWitcher.tv going on for a while now but along with Batwoman.tv, TheWitcher.tv is also live now! For those that don't know, The Witcher is a show being developed based on a video game and series of novels for Netflix. This is a BIG departure from the female-centered show we've been following and the new ones we are now following but believe it or not, this is actually Kelsey's baby to grow, Eric hasn't even played the games (yet).

So, what's changing? When it comes to Supergirl.tv ... NOTHING! Not to get too Star Trek on you, but Supergirl.tv is our flagship! It's been around the longest and its success has made all of this possible. There will NEVER be any advertisements on the site here and we will continue to be vigilant about all the news, rumors, spoilers, videos and media as we always have. But much like Star Trek Enterprise, Batwoman.tv is our NX-02 Columbia! It has a bigger deflector dish and some bells and whistles that Supergirl doesn't. That doesn't mean Supergirl won't get some upgrades, it's just that Batwoman is now our most advanced site we've ever built.

There are some policy changes happening on the new sites however. First, each of the new sites has two advertisement places. A big ad and a small ad. Right now they are just being used to promote the other sites but eventually we want to turn them on and use traditional advertising to help offset the costs of these sites. Secondly and more minor, TheWitcher.tv, for example, will have a less restrictive language policy as the show is aimed for a more mature crowd. Other than that, it should be business as usual for all our new sites as well as our Flagship, Supergirl.tv!

We want to thank you all for being such great users and giving us the courage to try some new sites! We couldn't have made this decision without the incredible community that has embraced us here. If you are interested in Batwoman, Stargirl, or even The Witcher, we would be so happy to have you as users there as well! Thank you all so much!

Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and in the forum! Keep the Supergirl.tv flagship flying and visit the support page if you can!

Is the signup mechanism working for Batwoman.tv? I tried to register last night (same username and email as here) and never got the confirmation email.

This is Staffer Kelsey, signing in to officially roll my eyes ay Eric. ;)

Also, I agree with Eric. The things we are designing and coding in these new sites are ways for us to learn and enhance SGTV, and the better we get, the better this site will be for all of you! Supergirl.tv will always be our first and foremost priority.

I think it is an absolute fair critique. I would like to double down on my statements that Supergirl is still our first priority! Additionally, The new build on Batwoman is actually going to help Supergirl because I am going to apply it here to get some of those new bells and whistles here as well! Kelsey will role her eyes at me for this, but I have been consistently comparing the two sites to Star Trek Enterprise. The Enterprise was the first and Starfleet's flag ship, Columbia was the second and had the benefits of applying the lessons learned from Enterprise. That said, the tech the two shared allow for both ships to get better. The only thing I can see that Batwoman will have that Supergirl can't (and it isn't that it can't its just that there are over 1200 images to do this) is Batwoman has bigger intro images than Supergirl does. That's really the only different once I get the new build up.

We think both site will really benefit from each other.

Thank you Kelsey my friend, appreciate what you and Eric have stated. You had me laughing at the official rolling of the eyes - you are both fantastic :-)

evrafter have you played Dragon Age Inquisition?

Absolute God of a game

Dragon Age is the best! I'm never going to do this, but if I calculated the hours total I spend on replaying the games, I might be ashamed of myself.

Eric and Kelsey congratulations!! What a big step and a fantastic one to take. I will be honest when I first read this I got worried that SuperGirl would fall to the wayside for Batwoman and I was sad and not very happy especially when you said Batwoman's site would have bells and whistles that SuperGirl's did not. But of course it's a newer site so of course it will be more advanced than this site. I guess I just love the show SuperGirl so much that I hated to think of anything taking precedence over it. But that's not what's happening - what is happening is called growth and reaching out to even more fans with intelligent factual show information. So as long as SuperGirl TV stays alive and well, I'm happy and I know from what we've seen with this site that your new sites will be excellent in the information they give us and the enjoyment they will provide.
