Battles Won and Lost Trailer

After tonight's new episode of Supergirl, the stage was set for an epic finale! This looks to be on a scale that an Arrowverse show has never even attempted! The entire planet is beginning to change into a form of New Krypton and it is going to take two green Martians, at least two Kryptonians, a Daxamite, and the whole of the DEO to even attempt to stop the chaos! Check out the trailer for part two of the finale of season 3 below:

At the end, Reign seemed to have dropped it in favor of the chokehold. Reign will perhaps find this extremely inconvenient when Sam uses it to eviscerate her. Or perhaps Supermom will use it to show Reign that she really has lost her head.

And I wrote this *before* the gallery photos appeared. Guess who got her hands on the Sword of Jeru? If I were a young teenager, this being during the Kennedy Administration, some of my peers would have shouted "I count coup! I count coup!" regardless of the cultural lending involved.

There needs to be an entry in the Evil Overlord's Secret Handbook: In a choice between using a weapon that makes you invincible, and resorting to fisticuffs, hand to hand combat is inadvisable.

Looks absolutely epic finale looking forward to it, like someone else has been asking where is Mr Kent, you never know he might turn up (hopefully he will but I doubt it,) and they are keeping that one under wraps.

Did they add a neck-breaking sound when Reign is choke-holding Kara?

That definitely sounds like a bone breaking. Who’s bone we can’t tell. The intention is to make us believe Reign is breaking Kara’s neck but as we know they’ve been known to deceptively cut these promos. I really don’t think Kara’s going to “die” because nobody going to believe she’s actually dead.

As for who if anyone dies except for Kara I’m pretty much in agreement with knightsaber7. Ruby’s off the table, having an innocent kid violently die is taboo for network TV. We’ve known for a bit that one way or another M’yrnn isn’t going to survive all that’s left for him is choosing how he dies.

I noticed that while Reign was choking the life out of SuperGirl, Sam was sneaking up on her in the background. If I had to wager who would be dying this season I would hope it is Reign and that Sam lives. Also we know that J'onn's father dies so if you count them plus the agent that is 3 deaths and hopefully the 3 witches will die which makes 6. I don't think MonEl will die at least I hope not only because I don't want another beginning season of Kara moping over MonEl - I'm hoping we get to see more of the smiling Kara especially with her mom being alive. Also hoping we get to see more Superman and Eliza in season 4.

Eric - yes I did hear a bone breaking sound when Reign was choking SuperGirl.

Sadly, I’m guessing that Kara is distraught because she had to kill Reign. I’m remaining slightly hopeful that she then discovers that Sam is still alive - and possibly that she didn’t actually “kill” Reign, it was Sam overcoming her from the inside.

Why wouldn't Kara be distraught over Mon-El? Even if her personal situation is complicated, he's still her friend and fellow hero. We might know that he is unlikely to die, but Kara doesn't know that.

@knightsabre7: Imra is in the episode. She can be seen in the promo, holding back a waterwave.

I don't think that Kara will die, even temporarily (even though that would be a very cool way to explain a potential reduced Melissa airtime at the beginning of next season). The story just doesn't feel like it's building up to it.

Do you guys think the "who will survive" tagline is just for show or will somebody actually die? Anybody else worried that it might be Alura? I hope not, because it would be beyond cruel for Kara to lose her all over again after having just found her.

M'yrnn - Yes, he dies one way or another
Sam - Likely
Alura - Maybe, but more likely next season
Mon'el - Maybe
Imra - Maybe, so Mon-El is free, not sure if she's in the episode though
Kara - Maybe, but even if she does it'll only be temporary
J'onn - Unlikely, but he might leave to go deal with his new wisdom
Alex - Unlikely, but she might leave to go be a mother
Wynn - Unlikely, but he might leave to go deal with his grief
James - Very Unlikely
Lena - Very unlikely, she needs to get more grey next season
Brainy - Very unlikely
Ruby - No

"Anybody else worried that it might be Alura? I hope not, because it would be beyond cruel for Kara to lose her all over again after having just found her."

Totally agree!

"Or, may be they are killing off Alex."

Or more likely, Sam. (I really doubt Alex - the Danvers sisters are the heart of the show...)

"Or they find a way to get her home again. Martian Manhunter mobile still around?"

Or as someone else said, the transmatter portals on Argo and Earth are activated and connected, so Alura can return to Argo (and Kara can visit Argo on occasion).
