We're still quite a ways away from a new episode of Supergirl but we can finally start to speculate what is going to happen in the episode with the official description finally being released (of course if you've been to our spoiler page you probably know QUITE a lot about this episode)! We've known via Andrew Kreisberg that this episode would focus on the importance of Journalism and with the description below, we can see why:
“IZOMBIE’S” RAHUL KOHLI GUEST STARS – Lena’s (guest star Katie McGarth) ex-boyfriend, Jack Spheer (guest star Rahul Kohli), comes to National City to unveil his big breakthrough in nano-technology, which has the potential to eradicate all diseases. Lena asks Kara to attend Jack’s conference with her for support. When Kara sees Snapper (guest Star Ian Gomez) in attendance she’s inspired to tap back into her reporter skills and questions Jack on his discovery, which ultimately leads to a bigger investigation that puts everyone in danger. Armen V. Kevorkian directed the episode written by Paula Yoo & Caitlin Parrish (#218). Original airdate 4/24/2017.

Quoting Brandtm2:
I'd also like to see Supergirl in this situation, helping do some important but down to earth police work. But Supergirl can add an extra dimension to it like use her x-ray vision during an authorized search. She doesn't need to fight aliens all the time, she can help out against mortal but dangerous Earth criminals.
As a matter of fact, I just did that in my latest Supergirl fan fiction story - "A National City Easter Weekend". (I had Supergirl rescue Maggie, too.)
Here's a link to it on my Facebook page:

I too would like to see a Maggie and (journalist) Kara or Maggie and (Supergirl) Kara team up.
Any Supergirl scoop? — Abbey
The return hour features a big Lena-Supergirl story — with the introduction of Lena’s ex (iZombie‘s Rahul Kohli)! But despite Kara’s BFF having an infamous last name, Kara has no reason to suspect that the youngest Luthor is nothing but an ally. “Not at this point, no,” Melissa Benoist tells me. “I think they have a really special bond. The allure of the Luthor-Super relationship is so fascinating in the comics. I love where they’re taking it now. She has no caution to being friends with Lena. She just sees a good heart right now.” And if Kara someday has to face-off against Lena? “It would be devastating,” Benoist says.

Me, too! And I would also love to see more of Maggie doing her job (police work) - and getting Kara involved in it, also.
There would have to be something where she makes him beg her to come back, but with an understanding she can't pull the stunt she pulled before.
Just saying.
Peace,
Gene
I also hope this is where Kara gets her job back and we go back to more entertaining scenes at Catco. But I also want to see Snapper admit he overreacted when he fired Kara after only one offense.
Here's hoping your exactly right with that prediction Gene, I'm so keen for them to show us more of Kara doing her job in Season 3 that I really want this to happen, I'm sure the writers could come up with enough interesting story-lines.
Peace,
Gene
