5 Shows 5 Hours of Crisis on Infinite Earths

2019 - 2020 season of television on the CW is going to be a BIG one! When it comes to the Arrowverse, there will be a crossover event like we've never seen before. All five shows will participate. That means that Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and the new Batwoman will all have a part to play! Even more so, The CW president Mark Pedowitz stated that the first three hours will take place during the final episodes of 2019 and will pick back up as two more episodes in 2020. That means during the holiday break the Crisis event won't even have wrapped up! There will still be two hours to go! Imagine the kind of cliffhanger we are going to be left with! As of now, it isn't known which shows will submit their episode for the crossover but all 5 will have one episode devoted to the event! So, YES, the Legends will be included this year!

A five hour Crisis on Infinite Earths event even with commercials removed would put run time along the lines of Avengers Endgame. While some have noted that the MCU's success has dwarfed the DCEU, this event feels very similar to Avengers Endgame in the Arrowverse. This will begin phase two and give, what we believe, a very fitting end to the hero show that started it all, Arrow.

agree. Supergirl is always poorly served in these crossovers, even the musical one was more about Mon-el than her. I don't want to see her in the background or playing a nazi version of herself etc. The character and show deserve more respect. Hopefully this year nothing happens in the crossovers that negatively impacts the regular viewers of the show.

Hard to be excited. SG is always a background character and the Super friends are rarely involved. The focus is usually on the wrong thing. I’d only want Kara and Alex maybe J’ohnn. Any more than that will just crowd things. I feel the same about Legends when the only one I care about these days is Sara. Would so love to have a meet up with Sara and Alex. Hard to be impressed by Batwoman. Ruby Rose just doesn’t feel right for the character. Stopped watching Arrow and Flash a long time although I do enjoy Barry and Kara interactions.

Meaning taht neither Supergirl nor Super-Stunt-Woman will die of exhaustion.

The crossovers have always been my yearly favorites, and if the final result of the "Crisis" graphic novel applies to the TV adaptation (the merging of all Earths into one), then I'm all excited for the post-Arrow phase for Supergirl. I wish to see a bit more collaboration between Kara/Barry or Kara/Kate when they share the same Earth.

It would take another full season of Supergirl (6) to take full advantage of the merge in my opinion.

Quoting KaraD:
I wish I could be excited but I feel it's exhausting for the actors and Supergirl is always on the back burner. Plus, I feel the regular season of Supergirl has suffered because of the crossover. I know I've said this before but a crossover between Flash and Supergirl is all I need. In season 1 ( and the musical in season 3), it was nicely done and well planned.

****

Amen to that!

It will be exhausting for everyone involved, including the viewers. Personally, I'm planning to watch the SG portion and maybe the Batwoman one, but the others aren't my cuppa. I'll stick to the recaps for those.

For those into this kind of stuff, it'll be great. For others, it's a tad on the excessive side. Nonetheless, 2019-2020 will be packed.

I'm guessing that the three shows that will air Crisis for this year will be Arrow, Flash, and Supergirl and next year would be Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow since Legends will return midseason.

Also there is no need to de-power Supergirl when facing a threat like the Anti-Monitor.

I wouldnt mind that. I keep thinking they are going to treat Supergirl with respect, but haven't seen it happen. I do not see how they can service the main characters from all shows and their teams. IMO, the teams need to stay at home....that is just too many characters....

When you have a storyline like Crisis On Infinite Earths that's a big scale, it will likely be many characters to deal with a threat like the Anti-Monitor.

I also hope Crisis will include Superman, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor.

Don't be surprised if we see the kitchen sink from Kara's Loft flying around in these 5 hours of action. hahaha

This Variety article says three in late December and two in early January

I hope they mean just that and they don’t have a weeks long break in between.
Quoting Kelly:
I kinda wish Supergirl would stay home. From history, we will lose an episode to the crossover with little Supergirl in it. A powered down marginalized Supergirl is not very appetizing to me.
I’m with you on this. I wasn’t impressed with Elseworlds and I kinda just want CoIE to be over with so the show can move on. To those looking forward to it I hope it’s satisfying for you.
