This afternoon we are getting confirmation from CBR.com that Owain Yeoman is indeed Vartox in the Supergirl pilot. He is described as:
An alien convict, who has been hiding on Earth for the past twelve years. After Supergirl’s emergence on Earth, Vartox seeks her out to ascertain her identity and do battle with her.
This falls exactly inline with our thinking that Vartox could actually be the Lumberjack or replace the Lumberjack as a villain. Vartox's emergence will undoubtedly challenge Supergirl as Vartox's strength is equal to that of Superman's in the comics. While it isn't completely 100% we are thinking its safe to say goodbye to the Lumberjack and hello to Vartox as the first villain in Supergirl!
