Kevin Tancharoen is taking over the duties behind the camera for episode 5 of Supergirl! Tancharoen has directed episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in 2014-2015 and The Flash in 2015. On top of developing a new vision for a Mortal Kombat film, and directing a proof of concept web series for Mortal Kombat, Tancharoen is also a successful choreographer having worked with both Madonna and Britney Spears. Its doubtful that episode 5 will require any dance choreography but Tancharoen's experience with live Mortal Kombat like fights gets us very excited for what may come! More so, its going to be amazing to see those super-powered fights between Reactron (Chris Browning) and Supergirl, or even Supergirl and Livewire (Brit Morgan)! Armen Kevorkian and his visual effects team is going to have their work cut out for them this season animating lightning bolts, radiation blasts, tornadoes and a woman stronger than a locamotive!
It's rare if ever that one director stays with all episodes of a tv series. This is not a bad thing for Glen Winter or Kevin Tancharoen. Production teams like to move their talent around to enrich all their properties. So Glen will probably go and do a few Arrow episodes while Kevin comes in to try his hand at Supergirl.
